Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I was using Behringer europower pmp 3000 to power the party last weekend, sudddenly the audio output went low and distorted, output was low and missing high frequency and sound was terribely distorted. There was no clipping and the volume was pretty high before it blew up.There is very low or nill output in one channel, the other channel is having distorted output. Please help Thank you Ateeq Sydney

check all op amps for correct voltage swing +-should be equal,test output of op amps no voltage should be present, use chasis gnd as tester neg.check voltage regulation especially 12v or 15v +-.note some amps show unequal led indications when only 1 channel connected to a load.I will try to get some more info on this specific amp because i don't know this circuit well,keep in touch as you update though.

Sounds like your Power FET's are gone. Take it to a shop that specializes in high end or vintage gear. ....good luck...Rob

The distortion might be caused by a resistor. The loss of volume could be the capacitors, but you could try injecting signals into the transistors to see if any has gone. They can cause the distortion and loss of signal. If you apply a soldering iron to any part it will heat up quicker, or you could also use a hairdryer for the whole thing. You can also get a freeze spray that cools things that have heat sensitive faults (available from electronic parts shops).
