If the panel light is green try seeing if there is a faint image on the screen when the room is dark or shine a flashlight into the screen - if there is an image, the backlight is out.
    Let me know.

When you say "shows no power" exactly what do you mean? The only indication of power is a tiny light, usually green or orange.

Have you check the cables??...try to check if the cables are properly plugged and and also you can try a different power point to check if the problem is within the power itself

Bad cap can look normal but can have high ESR, I always replace them in a set, and you should use LOW ESR type with 105c rating since we are dealing with switching power supply here. Look at the bottom seals also.

Or just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

I have power going to my Viewsonic VX2245wm but no image

You need to check the internal power supply to see if your capacitors have popped. Even though it may show power, the portion of the power supply that powers the LCD itself may have been damaged ::

My viewsonic monitor works fine for some time but the n suddenly stops displaying even though the power cord is fine ...after some time it comes alive or some times by fidgeting with the power cord.....

It sounds like a loose connection. The easy thing to try is to replace the power cord to make sure that's not the problem. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably a broken or loose wire inside the monitor that you would need to trace down with a multimeter.

Video card has vga and hdmi ports, should cables be plugged into both and back into the monitor ? Viewsonic 912b

Only one cable is required.
The monitor may need to be configured to the video input connector so it knows which port the video input data it is receiving.

Even though you show 12 volts, you could still be coming up short in amps on your powerboard.
Updating the capacitors (all of them except for possibly the main) may correct this.
If that doesn't do it, then the inverter is the next target to check.

Viewsonic E53 monitor

Base on the information given to me.

I think your computer is on sleeping mode.

first thing check if the video cable is not loose connecting the pc.

because what would happend, if it is loos it would turn on and off at times.

The other thing you can do.

right click on the desktop.
go to properties
go to screen saver
click on power

adjust the time you want your monitor to shut off.
