Indesit dif 04 wont work it just make a humming noise and wont empty

Unplug the device from AC power outlet, and replug it after five minutes. If the problem perists, the motor of the unit is faulty, and should be replaced.

Made pop noises screen flashed considerable hum then no power no sound no nothing

This model no. is known for AC power adapter problem. Pop noises, flashes of the screen is an indication of out-of-regulation condition on its power supply. If there's no LED light lit, then high chance that the fault came from the AC power adapter.
This model no. used AC power adapter with a 12 Volts output feed to the unit. You have to confirm the 12V output using the multimeter set in DC measurement.
If the 12V output voltage is not present, then you have to replaced it with new one. This model no. is already discontinued, only substitution is available online which will work also for your unit. You may inquire/call Sears hotline no. (1-888-213-5824) to confirm and order the AC Adapter.
Please let me know if the Adapter is intact to assist you further.

I have over 35 years in the A/C business and am ASC certified. The motor will normally draw 4 to 6 times it FLA (Full Load Amps) or RLA (Regular Load Amps) when first starting up or is seized. This is called LRA (Locked Rotor Amps). These specs can be found on the motors nameplate and can be checked with an amp meter. If the motor hums and won't start while pulling these high amps, Try giving it a spin with a stick. (in the right direction of course). If it keeps running when helped to start, its probably the capacitor. They normally run about $7.50 wholesale. If its tight in both directions while humming, 1 or more of the field poles is out of balance and the motor will need replacement. Good luck and be careful when spinning it.

I have a howling noise when the A\C is turned on ?

just take the fan motor off and run it over to your local electric motor shop for a exact replacement and yes replace the capacitor with one that matches your new motor. The bearings are dry on this one, it sounds like you caught it just in time Good Work Soldier. Those york guys do not make any money sitting around answering questions over the phone that knocks them out of a service call charge. ITS JUST buisnnessLOL. You might want to go ahead and do your condensor coil cleaning while the motor is out of the way, if you have not done that in a while, do you have some coil cleaner? If you let those York guys come out they can probably spot some other areas that need attention also. Hey its like my old Boss told me back years ago "Son its only Money" I have found that it is a lot easier to spend other peoples money for some reason hmmmm

Motor noise and flashing light

The problem you may be having is an ice build up. Defrost the unit and take out the back wall of the freezer. Cut the insulation off as in the picture and it will solve the problem. What happens is a little bit of water gets trapped and then over time it becomes a massive ice ball that can block the fan. First you hear the ticking noise and then you get ER FF error.
