You need to test the video output circuits with the help of the supplied cables and your television. Hook up the audio video cable supplied with the dvd player from the dvd player output circuit to the television input circuit. This set up is explained with a diagram on page 17 of the owners manual. After completing the connections, place a dvd in the player and play it. If you can see the video and hear the audio, then your video and audio circuits are still working correctly. You may just want to use this set up for the dvd player instead of attempting the repair process. The problem will be with the connections between the main board and the lcd display. This problem may be a bad connection or dirty contacts in the connection. You can take apart the dvd player and clean the connections. There is a chance that a connector is damaged and will have to be replaced. These connectors are usually ribbon cables and should not be that expensive to replace. The connector will have a part number on it. This is the number you need to look for a repalcement part. When you take apart the dvd player you should completely clean and remove all the dust and debris from the inside of the player. This can be done with small brushes and a can of compressed air. If you cannot see the playback then you are having a problem with the video output circuits. This problem will have to be repaired in a service center. The repair may not be worth it as the cost may be as expensive as a new player..The telephone number for Zenith customer support is 1-800-243-4994. They will be able to tell you how you can get service and repalcement parts for your dvd player. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

My screen has a green hue and cannot seem to correctit is a protable dvd with lcd screen

One of the possible things:

a loose/bad/dirty connector contact or a bad solder contact inside the case (possibly the LCD screen connector at either side). This may show up as the problem you're having with your unit. Checking and/or cleaning/resoldering the connector pins might solve this.

It may also turn out to be something else (like a bad output from a chip or a bad component inside or near the video section, which might require component replacement.

No picture but has sound

Hi If your t.v.has built-in blue screen when there is no signal, then the DVD may have been accidentally switched to progressive scan mode, or defaults to that setting if new. If your T.V. is not capable of displaying in progressive scan mode, you will just get a blue screen. If you have an older tv, without blue screen, then connect it to that, and if you get a black and white split screen when you turn on the DVD, then progressive scan is the problem. Check the manual for the DVD player for the procedure to get out of that mode, and it should then work. If you still have no video, and you are using the yellow composite video jack on the back of your DVD player, then it must be brought in for service. Good Luck!
