Question about Philips GoGear HDD1830 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Resetting I had my mp3 player plugged into my PC, and suddenly it froze up. The PC wouldn't recognize it, and the player won't shut off at all. Even though its not plugged into my pc anymore, the screen still shows that its connected, and I can't get it to reset.

Re: Resetting

To reset, press volume+ and play at the same time until the player shuts off.

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).

I just bought a GPX MP3 player (ML651B) I put music on it and was charging it. It now doesn't even want to turn on. I looked at the GPX website and I couldn't even find this one among their products. Now,...

The power button (more like a slide) on the bottom right side will turn it on once it's ejected from the computer. Hold the slide in, and let go after a second or two. Give it a few seconds (like 10) and it should power on. I got mine as a gift and am still working through the interface.

My computer doesnt recognize my mp3 player

the problem maybe is the usb card of your pc... maybe the usb loose...that why sometimes when the mp3 when you plug in recognized then suddenly stops..or maybe your mp3 has a virus and maybe the pc too.usually the mp3 is plug n play.
