How do retrieve messages from a Uniden answering machine, model DXA13288-2, when away from home.

On my Uniden (not sure the model) I press 0 during the outgoing message and then my 4-digit pin.

You will need to set a security code. When you're away you can call your home phone and enter the code to retrieve your messages. Hope this helps.
