Question about AudioBahn AW1206T Car Subwoofer
I have 2 AW1206T's the voice coils make a real bad noise at higher power. I ran them at exactly 1100rms but peaks did go over 3000watt. i need to know if their blown or if the coil is falling apart. Thanks
When a sub is blown it usually makes a scratcy or grinding noise if you push the sub in but if its blow it realy wont make much of a sound so it sounds like your voice coil is going out you will want to get this looked at quick or it can get expensive...i had one were it was cheaper to buy a new sub rather than fix it. it can also just be it disorting from too much power. i would never go over the power limit when dealing with 3000 watts, that can get realy expensive quick

Also it could be the seal for the box. They wear out and boxes get leaks or weak causing flexibility in the material so when subs hit it vibrates the box really bad. Try removing she speaker from the box then turn it up and see if it makes the noise. If not then its probably the box. Let me know.
