SOURCE: should I oil my Elna 3005 sewing machine?

Many of the new models do not require oiling.

Check the maintenace section of the manual for cleaning the shuttle area. Sometimes lint can build up and cause the machine to get noisy.

If it has been over a year since the machine was serviced, it may be time for a proffesional tune-up.

SOURCE: new sewing machine is squeaking

YOu may have bent the needle. Put in a new needle and re-thread the whole machine. See if that works.

Bernini 1130 squeak at flywheel

Clean and oil your machine: Dirt and dust can accumulate in the machine and cause it to squeak. Try cleaning and oiling your machine as per the manual instructions .

Check the feed dogs and pressure foot: The squeak might be due to the interaction between the foot and the feed dogs. Try removing the foot and lowering the feed dogs to see if the squeak persists .

Check for worn-out parts: The 1130's originally had a crank made from aluminum, which could wear out over time. You can check if this is the case by opening up your machine and inspecting the crank.

If unresolved, the next step would be to contact professional repair. These machines are known to have an issue with squeaking. Odd machine squeak sewing discussion topic @ PatternReview.com

Kenmore sewing machine keeps squeaking how to stop it?

Hello Shirlene, If your Kenmore machine has two drive belts, a belt from the motor to an idler pulley and a belt from the idler pulley to the main shaft. I have found that the idler pulley needs some Teflon grease on the idler pulley shaft. On my machine, the squeak would go away for a while if I oiled this idler pulley shaft. But it was short lived. Only grease on the idler pulley shaft would silence the squeak.

Machine squeaks when sewing

Is it a mechanical machine (NOT computerized)?

Do this ONLY if it is MECHANICAL. Remove the top lid and the freearm cover (if no free arm, then you'll have to tilt the machine so you can access the lower mechanism).

Use ONLY fresh good quality sewing machine oil. While handrotating the handwheel, watch where metal parts move against other metal parts and apply 1-2 drops of oil. Do NOT oil plastic, rubber, or leather parts as oil will eventually destroy them.

Be sure to oil the moving parts in the lower mechanism as well. Hopefully this will take care of the squeak and get your machine operating 100% again.

How to fix squeaking Bernia walking foot?

I would oil the foot with sewing machine oil where it is attached to the fitting. Be sure to then run the foot on a scrap for awhile to remove any excess oil.

Looking to tune up brother CP 6500. Squeaking And skipping occasional stitches. What grease to use and where to apply grease?

No grease please, only quality sewing machine oil. Some machines marked the oil positions with red. Small holes. Else take the top and left side covers of and use just a drop of oil where moving parts are joint. Here too you should find small holes that need a drop now and then.

White model 534 serger

Your serger most likely need to be oiled. It is important that you keep your serger clean and oiled. More so than your sewing machine. If this is a new squeak, you can try to oil the area that it is coming from yourself if you can get access to it. If it is not a new squeak it is possibly coming from the motor or the belt and then I wouldn't suggest to oil those parts. If you can't get to where the squeak is at bring it to a repair person and they should be able to take care of it.

My Kenmore 12493 is making a loud squeaking noise. I have oiled the machine as per the manuals instructions...I can not figure out where the squeaking is coming from.

Hi
If you are good with machines you need to take off the bottom cover and oil all of the drive. The motor may all so need to be oiled.
Good luck
