I purchased a used kenmore 70 series dryer that is rear vented. Is it possible to convert this dryer so it vents through the bottom.

No because of the way the blower housing is made.
You could run flex pipe downward behind the dryer though.

Check the vent for clogs and kinks. Could be something in the blower wheel causing the noise and blocking the vent.
Remove the vent from the back of the dryer, unplug the dryer, and reach inside the dryer vent to check for items lodged in the blower housing.

Kenmore Dryer 70 series. Recently moved. Clothes take 3 cycles to dry when vented to wall vent. Woreks fine when vented to room.

Your wall vent is restricting your air flow somehow. Many times they get plugged with lint. When this happens it activates a thermal safety switch in the dryer and doesn't let it heat to the proper level.

to know if the vent is for sure cleaned unhook the dryer and start in timed cyc using high heat and see how long it runs does it run longer than when hooked up to vent if so vent is still restricted if not then the blower housing/lint screen is also plugged

Kenmore dryer shuts off after five minutes

The vent box inside the dryer still has lint in it. You need to reach way inside to get at it. Turn power off.

Kenmore Series 70 Dryer

I'm not familiar with your dryer model but general advice regarding dryers with the problem that you have described would be to ensure that any filter on the outlet is clean, whether it be a condenser or traditional external vent.

Ensure, if it is vented rather than condensing (only connected to a drain) that the vent tube has clear access to expel the damp air circulated during the drying process.

If the wash load is heating to a substantial temperature in the dryer, it isn't the element causing the problem.
