Question about Yamaha HTR-6030 Receiver
My 6030 has been working fantastic for over 2 years. The other day I went to turn it on, and there was no sound. The receiver itself turns on as it always has. I have checked all of the connections, and nothing seems to be crossing, touching or lose. If I turn the volume up high, I do get a low grade base sound, but you can't distinguish anything. I have been running an Xbox, DVD and my TV through it. I know the TV sound is working because the WII I have is running through the TV sound system. Any suggestions as to what the heck is going on?
First, NEVER turn the volume all the way up to see what's wrong. If HALF volume doesn't work you're only risking a catastrophic speaker blowout if you should suddenly flick the switch that's causing the problem with FULL volume on.
Look for the MUTE or Volume +/- controls on the remote and indicators.
