Hp photosmart digi cam that flashes a red screen saying it has experienced an error

I have an HP photosmart R727 camera that when turned on it quickly flashes a red screen that sias "camera has experienced an error" and immediately shuts off. It also displays a bunch on numbers but i'd have to turn it on two hundred times just to read them. Ive only had this camera a year. haven never done anything extreme w/ it. it just started doing this one day maybe an hour after I used it w/ out any problems. My warranty just ended. I called best buy and they told me its an internal problem that will cost more to fix than the total cost of the cam. itself. Needless to say I dont trust best buy. any suggestions?I have a photosmart R727,when i tern it on it flashes a red screen sayin it has expirienced an error and turns off immidiatly,it also has bunch of numbers on da screen,i've only had it for a year.......

Hi these "bunch of numbers" is the error code you will need to give them to me and i can tell you the "exact" problem.

hi i have looked at the error code and it seems that it has a "hardware error" there is no specific repair for it which you can do.

Here is a method which worked for several people, a unorthodox method.

hold the camera and "tap" it med/hard against your leg. its the only thing you can do.

here are the people who it worked for.

How do you reset an HP R727 camera? It comes up saying it has experienced an error 5555AAAA-61EE-14B-031 as soon as you switch it in. Battery is fully charged.

Normaly the repair service reset camera by using special file on the SD card. This file is impossible to find it on the internet. But you can try to update FW maybe it will help to this error message. You can try download lates FW for R727 from google.(Last FW version is 3.02.15).
Then extract exe file and copy FW file to the SD card.Put SD card into the camera and close battery door.Hold Shutter button and power on camera. After FW update is complete just power off camera. Then try it again to swith on.If it will not help the only way is send camera into the repair service.

Best Regards

Two ways: 1. Go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. 2..Remove the card and all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Please help!!

Try a safety pin in the reset hole by the battery compartment most paper clips seem to be much to big. Also hold the reset for at least 3 seconds. The first time I tried I just pushed it down quickly and it did not reset. I just fixed my mom's camera with the exact same error. So safety pin and hold 3 seconds. For a diagram of the reset hole see web site1.gif mentioned in jimg's suggestion

Hope this helps
