Canon EOS 400D camera refuse to start

A friend of mine ask me to help him with a problem. The button who release the memory card was removed from his place.I tried to fix the button without taking to pieces the camera, but unfortunately i forgot to remove the battery. Finally i fix the button but the camera refuse to start.
I think it was a shortcircuit during my attempt to fix that button, but i need a schematic of this camera. Even a simple advice, where to look after the fuses will be very useful.

Finally i solve the problem. On the board behind the battery compartment i find a fuse marked „P”. It look like a SMD resistor
but is not. I replace it with a SMD fuse marked „000” removed from another board and the camera worked just fine.

Cpt100 is partly correct.

If your camera has no power due to the CF pin shorting out the fuse ... then all you have to do is replace the fuse, exactly as you determined yourself.

Furthermore, there are SEVERAL online digital camera businesses that will replace the board for you if that is what you need, quite unlike cpt100 stating that only the Canon Factory Service Center will do it for you.

If you don't know the facts, then please don't tell people that you do cpt100.

I do not have good news for canon EOS digital camera. The CF pin area had a short during power on situation, many time we had to replace the main circuit. It is connected directly with the main circuit, more likely the board need to be replaced and the Canon factory would be the only place that can service this problem. The board does not have a fuse that will reverse this short. -James

You should not have any problems.
ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

Computer does not recognize my canon eos rebel xti 400D

You can download the driver aand reinstall it from this link: http://www.nodevice.com/driver/EOS_400D/get37008.html Make sure your existing Canon software, if any, is removed before installing the new driver. If this doesn't work you can always purchase a card reader and extract your photos directly from the memory card.

Err 99 on a 400d how can it b fixed

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Canon eos 400d error 99, shooting not possible. turn the power swithch on off again or re-instal the battery. It has been doing this for a long time and nothing is working to fix it! Thank you,

1.Remove the battery, lens and CF card. Allow the camera to sit without power for 20 minutes and then reinsert a fully charged battery.
2.Turn the camera on and push the shutter button as if you were taking a picture.
3. If you don't get the error message reattach the lens and insert the CF card.
4. Check the below canon eos 400d service manual link:

it will help you to save a lot of money
Hope it helps, Thanks
