You should try a reinstall, you may have the BIOS Setup password enabled, if so remove the battery and plug hoold the power button down for 60 sec and reinsert battery and power, then try to reinstall XP, check the Install disk for bad scratches, try cleaning the disk and blowing out the drive with the drawer open, and reinstall

When i turn on my toshiba a135-s2276 ,,its asking for password.. pls help on how to resolve it. many thanks effie

Did you not set a password? I've never heard of them setting a password by itself. Have you tried just hitting the enter key? My PC used to ask me for a password, even though it knew I didn't have 1, when I had other user accounts on my PC. I took those off, so it doesn't ask anymore. But before that, all I had to do was hit enter, because I had no password. Give it a try. :)

How do i find drivers for xp on vista pc?I recently purchased a toshiba A135-S4407. This pc has vista already installed and i am going to install xp, but i know that i need the drivers before i install...

I had the same problem. The problem you may run into, as I did, is that they may not have written drivers for your notebook components for XP yet.Best solution is to call technical support and have then give you the links to the individual drivers. <!-- from fixya rte -->

Find a program called AIDA-32 and install it and run it. It will analyze your hardware and tell you what type of hardware is being used on your laptop. You can then use this information and go to to find drivers for your hardware that will work with windows xp. If drivers guide asks you for username and password try drivers and all respectively.

Unable to open windows

try booting into safe mode (hit F8 repeatedly when you reboot until a safe mode option comes up) then if you are able to log in, go to the windows run prompt, type "msconfig" go to startup, disable all, services, disable all. reboot. see if it still does the same, if it doesn't one of those services are causing blue screen. Also try reverting to previous drivers if you did any driver updates, remove any new cards/hardware you might of installed recently.

If you can't get into safe mode, at a copy of any xp disk. boot up from it. (make sure your boot devices are set that cd rom is before hdd in cmos setup) then go to the recovery console "you press 'r' when ou have various option" type 1 for the windows, enter. enter for password unless you previously set an admin password.

Then type "chkdsk /p", let it run also type fixboot, and say yes. reboot and see if this solves your problem.
