Which cartridge needs replacing?

I have the epson 14000 and it's giving me an error that the cartridge needs to be replaced, but there are 6 and they shouldn't all need to be replaced. where do you go to tell? thank you.

    no. but at this point i am not even sure which color is low. that's what i'm trying to find out. where does it tell you which color is out?

    have you ever tried to refill them instead of replacing them cost you a lot less money.

Running a test print froem control panel should tell ya.
then just get refill kit.

i have this link below that gives you allinformation about your Epson printer. specifically the manual , required for review to address the issue with the ink cartridge error.

Run a Printer Check A printer check will help you determine if the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series is operating properly. 1. Turn off the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series and your computer, if connected. 2. Disconnect any connected USB cables. 3. Load plain paper in the sheet feeder. 4. Press Setup. 5. Select Maintenance and press OK. 6. Select Nozzle Check and press OK. 7. Press cx7400_cx8400_ug.1.109.1.jpg Start. 8. The Epson Stylus CX8400 Series begins printing the nozzle check pattern. • If the page prints, your Epson Stylus CX8400 Series is operating. Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......


I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

We are getting error code - 00010014


The same has happened to me I replaced one of the inks and got the error message 0010014. My Epson NX 400 is giving me this error message:Error B88/69/68 C


Try to run the ink pad reset utility software.
Please log on to epson.com. The software runs on win xp and win vista.

Epson R320 printer will not recognize any of the ink cartridges


I tried two things of which one solved the problem. I am not sure which. Secondly, I have an R260 printer which is a less featured member of the printer family uses Claria inks like R360 and R380. I called Epson and they simply sent me replacement cartridges for the two black ink cartridges with which I had a problem. My printer did not recognize these new cartridges either. I noticed that both the ones I bought and the replacement ones have a slot hole near the green chip on the cartridge. The empty cartridge did not have this slot. They just had some circular depressions. So, I put a piece of masking tape over the slot and tried again but still no luck. However, when I removed the cartridge, this time a small piece popped out. This piece connects to pins on both sides. So, it is obviously an interface between the cartridge and the printer. I pressed this piece back in, replaced the cartridge with the tape on it back it and, voila, it works. Most likely this interface piece was loose and simply pressing on the cartridge didn't get it in far enough or who knows. You maybe able to take thiis piece out and replace it or merely push down on it with a pen but first, flash a light on it first to see if it is not sitting awkwardly.

Solution: The indicated ink cartridge is out of ink. You will need to replace the necessary ink cartridge(s).


Error Message: Ink cartridge error -- > Press the Color Copy button to begin replacing the ink cartridge.
Solution: There is something wrong with the ink cartridge. Make sure the cartridge is genuine Epson ink. Also, try reseating the cartridge (remove it, and then reinstall it).

Error Message: Paper jam or misfeed -- > Press the Color Copy button and clear the paper jam by hand if necessary.
Solution: Paper is jammed. Check for any obstructions under the unit's cover, and in the paper tray.

Error Message: Paper out -- > Load paper in the sheet feeder and press the Color Copy button.
Solution: Load paper in the sheet feeder, and then press the Color Copy button to continue printing.

Error Message: Scanner unit open -- > close the scanner unit
Solution: Carefully close the scanner and press it down until it clicks securely into place.

Error Message: Scanner error -- > See your documentation and call service if necessary.
Solution: Press the ON button to turn off the Epson Stylus CX3200. Unlock the transportation lock, if necessary. If it is already unlocked, toggle the lock back and forth, 5-10 times. Turn on your Stylus CX3200 again.


Error Message: Printer error -- > See your documentation and call service if necessary.
Solution: Press the ON button to turn off the Epson Stylus CX3200. Disconnect it from power, and then reconnect it to power. Press the ON button to turn on the Stylus CX3200

Epson CX 5400 won't recognize off brand magenta cartridge


Yes replace the possibly faulty cartridge as some just don't work. If you take it back to where you bought it from they may replace it with annother one free of charge?

Replaced cartridge as instructed, but not working


I understand your frustration on this matter and I am try my to explain to you as best a I could the solution to your situation.

If you are using genuine Epson inks (which I assume they are cause $60), have given it a 'lil shake before installing and after installing printer charges the inks and provides you with this error message, Please ensure that you take out all the cartridges and check if they have been pierced then reinstall it if the same message shows give Epson a call & they'll be more than happy to replace the damage inks.

Now, this is just the tip of the iceberg if in any case that a replacement ink/s from the manufacturer itself still gives the same error message, give them a a call and they'll be more than happy to replace the product. That is how far as I know the manufacturer's policy is its up to you which direction you want to go.

I just like to ask to where specifically you can see the red light. It will help us determine what cause the red light. To give you heads up as well, the Printer's LCD screen can help us determine what exactly the offline condition of the CX3200 is:

Epson Stylus photo 2100


Highly possible that the "compatable" cartridges are not really compatable or that Epson has updated software or firmware to keep them from working. Try replacing with Epson cartridges or see if the non-OEM brand seller has a resetting device so the printer sees those cartridges as full.
