Does it hum or make a binding noise when you push the lever? There are by-pass valves on the pump. If there is no noise then that's more than likely your problem. If you hear a soft grinding like sound at the wheel motor then it sounds like the motor is by-passing oil.

SOURCE: The motion control levers became tight to move and

You may have some bent or out of adjustment linkages, causing the brakes to stay on.
Or the friction nut (one on each transmission) is too tight. These are located just in front of the axel, they go through a slot, the washer behind the nut should turn freely

SOURCE: My toro zero turn seems to overheat and stops moving from left side about half hour it runs fine.?

First check to see if you have any leaks especially on the problem let side. This includes the wheel motor. where hydro oil comes out, air can go in. either way it sounds like you need to take your pump out and open it up and check for metal inside. If you do not have any metal inside check the 5 pistons to see if they are stuck. What series hydro pump do you have?
10L 10A etc.

SOURCE: I have a Toro Time

What you have is an engine that has a carburetor problem that has probably diluted the oil to the point that the crankcase is over-filled. Drain the oil and filter, then replace oil. Sometime the carburetors on these unit will become porous or cracked inside and will allow gas to enter the fuel bowl while the engine is not running. Some signs of this is that the engine will drag or static lock when you try to crank it over.

I've gone to the point to even put an inline fuel shut-off valve in the fuel line so that the fuel can be shut off when the engine is not running to temporarily deal with this problem until a new carburetor can be located and installed.

My toro z480 zero turn is having problems with turning left.It works but is very weak. It's a used mower and I don'y know how to check the level on it, no resevoir tank.

There is no easy way to check transaxle fluid level for this model. See service manual below.

First check both bypass levers are in proper position. See page 17 of operators guide.
https://www.toro.com/getpub/28630

If bypass levers are correct, then see purge procedure page 4-8 in the service manual.
https://w-8ww.toro.com/getpub/28017

Note; left turn failure during forward travel is a power issue with the right transaxle.

If there is marked fluid leaking from suspected transaxle, it will need addressed (removed, repaired, reinstalled).

I have a Toro Time Cutter Z480 and it starts up but as soon as you move forward it stalls and there is a lot of thick smoke.
