JVC AV-27230 HELP! When u hit the menu button on the jvc a black box pops up with adjustments you can make such as tint color, etc. This black box is permanetly stuck on. There are no words such as tint, color, etc. in this black box, it's just a black box.Can anyone help me?

How do you get rid of the black box in the middle of the screen?

Somehow you have turned on the Closed Captioning. Navigate the menues to the section controlling that and turn it off. That should resolve this.

Put it in the custom mode.Put the contrast to the max.Everythings else in half in the middle.

Too much yellow in picture

The problem with the set is that the blue gun has gone weak, and not emitting at par with red and green guns in your picture tube. Turn of the blue screen and get the grainy display on the screen (detach the cable) and enter into service mode to fine tune until you get a perfect or black and white grain pattern.

Go into menu settings, closed caption and turn off closed caption... What you're seeing is the text box of closed caption.

Faded Picture

I would have to say it does sound like the CRT is reaching its end. The thing that points this out that the picture gradually gets a little bit better as it warms up. It most likely isn't worth the cost to fix it.
