1/4 cup is enough. Roast has a high moisture content and will produce a lot of liquid for gravy! I'd only use more when I am cooking potatoes in the same roaster with the meat, then I would increase to a cup. Cover the roast tightly with foil or a good lid.

well, it's a little late now for the Easter dinner, but when I use the high setting I add the carrots an hour and a half before the meat is done, and always add more water for the veges. I don't let the potato chunks get larger than 1.5", and if you like your carrots with some crunch in them, wait until an hour before the roast is done.

If you use the high setting on a crockpot things can get hot and even boil. On high I cook the roast 4 hours, adding the vege's about an hour and half before the meat is done. If you use the low setting and cook a full 8 hours, you could add the veges half way through... sorta depends on the crock pot.

A lot of people put everything in at once, set it on low and come home to dinner made. I always put a wooden breadboard under the crockpot if the counter top is not granite or tile. Over time the heat from crockpots and electric skillets can damage a countertop.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter dinner anyway!

put roast in. hit beef button. let pressure cool. hit beef button again.let pressure down on itself. enjoy do not forget that you still need enough water to make steam. That water also you will need to make GRAVY.

I have an all clad pressure cooker I need to know how long to cook a 5 pound pork roast for pork tocos

Hi Sharon! If you want the seasonings to get all thru the meat, I would cut it into about 6 pieces. Add your seasonings and cook it for 20 - 25 minutes. I have been cooking for 50 years and bought one of the electric digital pressure cookers. Liked it so much I bought another one. I made a pork roast about 2 weeks ago and I cooked mine for 25 minutes, It was so tender I could pull it apart with dinner forks. The seasonings I used were fresh diced onions ( 1 med) 2 cloves fresh garlic diced, salt and pepper to taste. Hope this helps.

Why do my roast potatoes take two hours to cook what am i doing wrong, cooking at190 degrees

I'm not really an expert in cooking and I've never roasted potatoes in some Crock Pot or Slow Cooker but for sure you need more then 190? (guess F?) to roast potatoes.

You should look up a receipe book for your device, like this one:

Tried to cook with probe setting however the actual temp would read 220 degrees right away when it starts to cook so it will switch to warm. probe in middle of roast, tried to reposition probe but still...

The Warm is the actual temp of the roast. The roast will need to exceed X amount of degrees before it reads out for you. Some are 100 some are 120. I would refur to your manual or their web site for the actual threshold when it will actually start to read.
Thanks,
Shawn

When cooking a crockpot roast, do i put my carrots and potatoes in, in the beginning or at the end. it's going to be cooking for 8-10 hours! thanks

I always put my carrots and potatoes in first with my seasoning and the amount of water/broth I am using. Then I put my roast on top with its seasoning. Works great this way.

Trying to slow cook

Well let me tell ya that's one of my favorite things to do
Just pop that yummy piece of meat right into the pot. add 3 cups of water. Add some salt and pepper, and turn it on low before you go to bed and in the morning you will have something awesome, with nice broth. But you need to ck, the water leval, dont let it go dry, you may need to add more water. .You don't need to cover the hole roast with water 1/3 up is good. You will have nice broth . I can make awsome gravie but thats next time.Bonapatite DFD please rate me.TK U
