you will need to check speaker wires. go ahead and disconnect wires and connect them again properly.. make
sure that they are not touching, or damaged. also you can try a reset
unit by having it on and disconnecting power cord for 1 minute. if this
doesn't solve problem there's mechanical problems inside of unit and
its protecting itself from getting more damaged by turning off, and it
will need service by a technicia

I had the same problem, it could be that there are a number of different problems that cause this error code. I noticed my unit was extremely hot even when it was turned off. Try unplugging it for half a day and see if it works then, maybe only for a short while. If it's just overheating get a larger system ($10) fan (may need to drill some new holes to mount it) and flip it so it blows into the heatsink area for the amps. Drill a series of holes in the upper casing for proper air flow. you may see the amps are scorched as well they need to be replaced (easy) for about $40 for the pair.

My jvc hx-d7 radio is turned on in 2 seconds it shuts down to protect mode how do i take protect off ?

You can't. The main amplifier module will probably have a channel blown. The unit is detecting this and tripping into protect mode to stop further damage occurring. Needs to go to a repair place. sorry. ps If you get sound briefly before it trips off then it may just be a speaker wire shorting out! worth checking

Check back speaker wires! this is protection mode! There is a short circut! look for stray wires touching metal or each other!
if this does not do it then unit will have to be fixed by a pro!
