I press the eject button and I hear clicking for about 5 seconds while the CD moves and fails to come out. Then the CD won't play. If I take the faceplate off and then put it back, however, the CD will play like normal.
Is this something I could fix myself, or is it best to take it to a dealer?

Re: CD is stuck
get a wetwipe and a very thing ruler. wrap the wetwipe around the ruler and gently ease the ruler into the cd slot and move it from left to right. slowly and be sure that it does not tear off any of the wetwipe.
remove the ruler (wetwipe still attached *we hope* ) leave to dry for a few min's before inserting your cd.

Try pressing the reset button. This sometimes helps eject the disc. If not i have found that by holding a second disc slightly above the stuck cd and very gently pressing down on the stuck cd, it can help eject the stuck disc. DO NOT INSERT A SECOND DISC. there is also a possibilty that the ejecting mechanisim is broken in that case taking in to the repair man would be the wise choice.
1 Try this: While holding the SELECT button, press the ATT button for 2 secs. It will rest the player and eject the CD
2 To unlock the CDWhile pressing CD, press and hold 0 formore than 2 seconds.“EJECT”appears on the display, and the CD eject from the slot the slot
# If above does not work you have to open the cover and remove CD manually

However the units have a forcible eject mode, im raking my brain for it but i think 90% sure its as follows... Try pressing and holding eject and the power button at the same time for about three to five seconds, the machine shoudl buzz louder then normal an do a full eject cycle for about 2 seconds, If worse comes to worse you can take off the outer casing four screws (if not under warranty) and carefully lift the disc slightly and slide it out. Take care to to force anything as you can damage/scratch the unit. Another option is that you ring the Kenwwod customer service number and ask how them what the button press combination is for forcibly ejecting cds from the unit. you may need to ask for someone in repairs there to get a knowlegable answer, Hope this helps Cheers STeve
There is a small hole at the bottom of the stereo face that will reset the system. I pushed a pen tip into the hole and it turned the stereo off. When I removed the pen, the system turned on and the CD ejected. Problem solved.
Disc Eject Prohibit: This feature keeps the disc from ejecting even if the eject button is pushed. The disc eject prohibit feature is engaged/disengaged by pressing the CD and Eject buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds.
