Did you change the password on the router? Did you WPS to connect the phone to the router? If so, use WPS again.. that's where you press the WPS button on the router and tell the phone to connect via WPS at about the same time.
WPS=WiFi Protected Setup. This is typically used to connect a Wireless Router to a Wireless Repeater. Both must be WPS capable and using WPS is similar to pairing two Bluetooth devices. One device transmits WPS and another listens (after you initiate a WPS sync). You have to enter a WPS PIN and the devices should connect.
The wireless and WPS lights solid green mean that the wifi and WPS are active. It also means that your home network is exposed to anyone with a laptop/pad/smart phone who knows how to hack into systems that have not been set up properly with the proper security.
I see the following security issues with your router:
1. The router's password is still the default or it does not have one.

2. WPS is enabled and active (WifiProtectedSetup)(this service is a major security hole that is used by hackers to gain access to routers, it must be disabled for protection)
3. The wireless (wifi) connections are open (not encrypted), anyone can intercept the wireless traffic and read it. WPA2/AES encryption needs to be configured for the best protection.
4. The router's built in firewall may not be configured correctly exposing you to drive-by hacking.
To resolve these issues requires someone who understands router security and is best done onsite.

There are two methods of activating it either by push button(Which you tried) and other is manual for that you can log into the Router setup page using "Http://192.168.2.1" in the Internet explorer and enter the pin code printed under the router. You should click on "Wi-fi protected setup" towards the left side of the page and leave the password field blank and click submit and enter the code and click on "Start" or Apply changes. The reason why it didnt work through the button is probably because your laptop might not be in range or switched off. It has a utility installed on your laptop which recognizes the connection and let it protect using WPS.
