does the headlight work.if not then take the cover off the base aand i think what you will find is the bridge circuit board that set right above the motor is burned up.$18.49 for the part.on mine the brush and the headlight don't work.that circuit board is actually a converter.it converts 110ac to110dc.has a dc motor in it.it goes from altrnating current to direct current.there are 2 screws on the bottom and one on the top.pull the hoover emblem off and thats where the other screw is.fold the back down and the cover will come off.i hope i was some help to you.please leave feedback...pete

if the headlight and the brush roller don't work then you need to take the cover off.there are 2 screws on the bottom and one under the hoover emblem just peel it off.the circuit board right above the motor is burnt.the part is $18.49 mine did the same thing.i put a new board in it and it burned up to.so thats kind of a touchy situation.something caused it to burn up.my suggestion is to take it to a hoover repair shop.is it still under warrenty

Already replaced filters. Suction is fine. Only have short nap rugs. Is not picking up hair, thread small things on the carpets. I have cleaned the bristles on bottom as well.

Turn the vacuum over with the bristles up. Turn on the vacuum and see if the bristles are turning. If not, then replace the belt that makes the bristles spin.

Brush won't spin on hoover wind tunnel bag less upright when on carpet, belts are fine

The belts may look fine but may be stretched and worn. Replace them. Make sure brush spins free. Idler pulley should tighten belt tension when handle is released

DCo7 too much suction hard to push

This suggests that the bristles on your brush roller are worn out.  When the bristles are a good working length, rotation of the roller actually helps to pull the machine over the carpet. When the bristles wear down this effect is lost.

It uses a cogged belt, turn it over, remove the bottom plate, remove the other screws from the bottom, turn vac back over and remove the Hoover emblem, there is a screw there to remove and the top comes off, then you can get to and replace the belt.

Hoover savvy no suction on carpet setting

Check to make sure you hear the vac. motor is running when in that position. The switch in the handle could be bad if it is not.

Hoover Savvy runs but has a burning smell...

Could be that the motor went bad, or one of the circuit boards is bad. The brush roll motor is the likely suspect.

Need help with my Hoover Savvy U8172-900 -- agitator does not spin when on

You probably jammed the roller brush and the gears on the motor stripped the teeth out of the drive belt.  You have to take the bottom and the top covers off the lower unit to replace the belt.  There is a hidden screw that keeps you from taking off the top, thus creates work for authorized Hoover repair shops.  You'll find that screw under the round red label in the center of the top of the lower section.  Peel it up and there is the screw.

Help

as the hose fits into the base (if i am correct) the power at the base should be fine, make sure the base is clean and free from blockage, you say the brush doesn't spin, has the belt broken, if so replace it, (very cheap) and only a couple of screws to undo, the roller not rotating will effect the power of suction dramatically, start from there and see how you go if i have helped please rate me
