Works fine before unplugging, stops working when plugged in again

The last time I moved my oven it took a few days before it started working again after being unplugged for a couple hours. power is fine, light, clock, etc, but none of the buttons respond when touched, and i can't cook with it. what causes this, and how do I get it to respond and work again?

Is it possible that some spray cleaner accidentally got into the controls?

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that users spray the cleaner on a soft cloth (not on the keypad itself) then wipe the control panel off.

Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.

SOURCE: dead keypad

need to check keypad ribbon tail or connection. vibration from moving unit could have made it come loose. if connection are good then replace keypad.

My microwave recently stop working then I unplug it then start working then after few days I need to keep unplug it works but not working at all when I on it the display shows see the manual

Could be the outlet that it is plugged in,turn the circuit breaker off, wait a few minutes, then try again ,or it is pulling to much power from the outlet, something else might be pulling from it,maybe try plugging it in somewhere else.

My Advantium 120 microwave shows the time, but none of the buttons respond to being pressed.

Try turning it off at the power switch, leave off for several seconds then switch it back on, it may reset the control unit, if not take it to a repair outlet,

Cuisinart Microwave just suddenly shuts off all power

It may be overheating due to a clogged vent. moove the vents away from the walls and check they are not blocked. Never try to fix an appliance while it is plugged in.

My son delivered the refrigerator to our home, and it was lying down in the truck. Well we have since found out that refrigerators should be delivered standing up. It was working fine at his home, but now...

Hi,
Try plugging it in for a few minutes at a time and the setting it off for an hour a few times...this may get it going...

MH1160 Whirlpool Microwave Stopped Heating

Are you getting 110VAC on the primary leads of the high voltage transformer when you press "Start" to begin cooking?

If not, yhen it may simply be a bad cook relay (I do board repair) or a bad bottom or inside top door switch. See http://www.microwavecontrol.com/doorsw.htm

R-209BK Sharp Microwave buttons inoperable

I had this problem too:
it turns out that it (apparently) just needed some 'warm-up' time!

After being plugged in for about 15 to 30 minutes,
the buttons suddenly "came to life"...

Note that when it's flashing 88:88 you are supposed to _start_ with the 'Stop/Clear' button. After that, set the clock (press "Clock", enter the time with the number pad, then press Clock again).

Hope that helps.

Microwave stopped working last night

If the microwave worked for a little while after you plugged it in again then it is just overheating. It is usually just dust/dirt collecting on the vents.the fan,and the magnetron(the thing the fan blows on).If cleaning all these doesn't solve the problem you may have a bad high temp overload sensor, and need to replace it.(this sensor is usually mounted directly on the top of the magnetron. The magnetron is the part that actually puts out the microwave signal.I've never seen a reset button. The high temp sensors reset themselves automatically.
