the dryer did not function properly after cleaning out the exhaust vent i tore the dryer apart to investigate further and found a broken wire on one of the sensors next to the fan motor.. high heat limit sensor? not sure if thats what it is but i fixed the broken wire and now it works like a new one, and my vents are clean so i shouldnt have any dryer problems for awhile i hope!!!thanks !!

Check your connecting exhaust vent for a blockage.
Remove the vent and run a 45 minute timed dry load and see if it works correctly.
Report back.

So glad you got it working.

rgputz1 it is most probable that your broken wire occured after the vent removal and satisfactory drying, simply because you would have had exactly zero heat and zero drying with a broken hi-limit wire.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INAPPROPRIATE RATING.

Maytag naptunedryer dryer heating goes off before they get dry

One of your gas valve coil solenoids is defective. There are two of them. One has two contacts and the other has three contacts. They are easily replaced and you can get them fairly cheap on eBay. What is happening is the one good solenoid allows the burner to ignite but after a few seconds the burner is shut down because the second solenoid is faulty. Its a safety feature in most gas dryers. Replacing them should take care of your problem.

most likely its gonna be your coil kit, but it could also be ur gas valve, but the gas valve is not common. I would go with the silinoid coil kit first, its much cheaper too

I dont' think it is drying my clothes. It's not getting hot?

gas or electric? if electric then probably either plugged exhaust hose or bad element....if gas then probably either plugged exhaust hose or temperature shut off switch or 1 0r both magnets on the gas valve, listen for the burners to ignite,if the burner shuts off afer 1 minute of running then double check the exhaust hose, the burner should run lots longer if working right.

This link shows the next likely cause of your issue. Remove the front panel and inspect the sensor bar which is located at the 4 o'clock level on the drum bulkhead, ( see the first link for location). Ascertain that 2 wires are connected to it and that black sensor bar is not cracked or broken.

This link will offer more assistance if the above 2 items check good.

Dryer is gas model dg212 flame come on but will not stay on long enough to dry clothes

if burner lights but fails to relight after several shut offs suspect burners solenoids change both they come in a kit ..once the solenoids get hot they will sometimes open electrically and fail to reenergize after cool down they will open gas valve and alow burner to reignite..also be sure vent to outside to clean and vent behind dryer is not flattened or kinked has know flame to not be properly burning due to exhaust problems and flame sensor would shut burner down

After a few heating cycles the burner does not ignite

The problem you are describing is usually associated with a bad gas valve coil. The dryer runs normally until it gets hot, then starts making a strange clicking noise. After it cools down, the dryer runs normally again. The gas valve coils (there are two of them) usually run about $20 a piece. I recommend replacing both of them at the same time just to be sure. I hope this helps.
