Kenmore Model 110.26712693 stuck on agitator cycle

No matter what setting is selected, only the agitator moves. Water does not fill, so we get no spin or empty cycle, only what appears to be either the wash cycle or rinse cycle.

I had already removed the back of the washer so I looked for and found the referenced clear plastic tube. There were no pinched areas, so I disconnected it from both ends and blew through it to ensure that it was clear. I reconnected the hose and tried again, but the problem still persists. No matter what setting I try, the machine acts like it thinks the water is at the correct level, and immediately begins agitating. I have also removed and checked the water input, both source and at the machine, and they are also clean with no impediments.

Your air pressure hose going to the water level switch is pinched.
Open the top control panel to access the clear plastic tube and relieve the pinched area.

Take a electrical meter set for continuity and check the water level switch. Unplug the machine, open the control panel, remove the wires from the water level switch. With the tub empty.

Touch 1 meter lead to V the other to T if you get a reading the water level switch is bad.

Your water level switch is defective and sending a full signal even when it is not full.

If V to T does not read, replace the timer.

Either your timing motor has broken or the gears that it drives are stripped. The timing motor is easy to replace but if the gears are stripped you will need a whole new dial assembly.

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Kenmore 80's series top loader only works on wash and rinse cycle

This is a problem with the pump being stuck so the motor cant turn the whole thing. Turn the washer on its side, underneath you can acces the pump, which is connected to the motor by two long clips. remove the pump and take out the colg that caused it to get stuck.

    Kenmore series 70 washer

On kenmore, which is made by whirlpool, there is a couple of coils attached to a bracket this is called a wig-wag.
they are located underneath the tub. when these coils engage they move a couple of bars, thus selecting agitate, spin, ect. It sounds like one of the coils is not working. Check them for power and continuity, and then go from there.
