Question about Nokia 6255i

Camera flash/phone powering off

I've recently had a problem with first my phone just powering off on it's own. Then, the camera flash came on and won't go off unless I use the camera flash to take a photo and then go in on options and turn off the flash. But when I turn off the phone and then turn it back on, the flash comes on and stays on. I'm the second owner, but my son who gave it to me never had these problems. I don't recall dropping the phone. Since it's an old model, could it just be wearing out? I've ordered a new phone, but I was just curious about what you think? Thanks!

I have actually had a couple of these phones come in w/ similar problems. There is a secondary circuit board in the upper assembly that needs to be replaced. Or the phone possibly got wet. As far as powering off, the battery has either went bad or once again may have moisture damage.

The cause can lay in the improper modem settings for your device. If you've flashed EEPROM recently with the custom settings then roll it back. If not and that happened suddenly have your phone serviced.

Are you saving your pictures to the phone's built in memory or to the removable flash card?

I would recommend shutting your phone off (hold the power button down for 7 seconds), reseating your flash card, then powering it back up.

I recently purchased a Canon EOS Rebel T3i SLR camera (July 2011) and already I am encountering a problem called "Err 05 the built-in flash could not be raised." Does anyone know how to resolve...

Hey Leo,

Unfortunately the problem you've mentioned is quiet common with your particular model.

Here's what Canon recommends, on its website.

-Turn the power switch to < ON > to turn on the power again.

And, if that doesn't work. Buddy, you'll have to drop by a service center. Hurry up, or you'll run out on the warranty period.

I have recently taken pics at three different stage shows for children. The lighting was bright on one but the other two there wasn't a lot of lighting. I have a Nikon D40X with a SB-600 flash on. ...

Red-eye is caused by the light from the flash reflecting from the back of the eye. There are several ways to eliminate or at least reduce the effect. One, as you've done, is to edit the photo after it's been taken. The red-eye reduction feature of the camera shines a light at the subject, causing the pupils to contract and thus reduce the reflection from the eyes.

A good way is to move the flash away from the camera. This causes the red reflection to go toward the flash, not the camera. Unfortunately, the D40x lacks the Commander mode to control remote flashes. Instead, you can use something like the SC-29 cord to move the flash away from the camera.

Another possibility to consider is to not use the flash at all. Bump up the ISO and see whether there's enough light for existing-light photography.

I´ve opened the camera to clean it up

1. You shouldn't have opened it. 2. You probably shorted out the capacitor...lucky you didn't get burned. 3. You need repairs...bring lots of money.

Canon A710

I have found that the camera is sensitive to battery power in that a slight fall off in voltage causes the problem. I came across a site, which I have not been able to find again, where it was stated that the contacts on the lid do not sit with sufficient pressure on the batteries to get a good contact. If you put the batteries in and look across the top, in my case, the battery +ve terminal is sitting slightly lower than the –ve battery terminal. To solve it, put a small piece of very thin plastic under the +ve contact on the lid so that it sits more proud. This has certainly improved my problem to the extent that this week the plastic fell out and the problem returned. Also I always use high capacity re-chargeable batteries. Hope this helps.
