Reinstall the scanner and follow the on screen directions. That should solve your problem, Alternatively define the path\folder where you want to save your sans to and make it the Default Folder(generally My Pictures in My Documents. Save it with a specific name(your choice) and see if can retrieve the scan and then you can do anything you may want to once you know the location of the scanned image......sodeep

Suretrak 3.0b: invalid path or file name when I try to save file as something else

The error message about invalid path is referring to a missing logo file. In the footer, or header, set Logo to None, or find the missing .bmp file and place it in your default SureTrak Clipart folder and re-browse to its location.

Having problem with scanner detecting PC destination when scanning to PC from printer. CS221

Make sure that print and file sharing is on. You must access the command center from your browser. Setup address book with all appropiate infomation for scan to smb. Make sure that the path name does not have the drive ID. ( sample: Path: Scans: not Path: C:\Scans) Hope this helps

Scanner (c2520). all of the sudden, when trying to scan a document (we scan to PC...select a sender....save at user PC...and the message we are getting is:incorrect setting of destination folder. contact...

1. Use a web browser to go to the machine at the ip address that you assigned to the scanner to check the network connection.

2.you need to make sure that the computer you are scanning to has the "Kyocera scanning utility" installed and running in the background.
Make sure address book is running. In address book editor you can change the path of the destination forlder and the Id# that are linked together.
Hope this will help.

Scanner

to be able to scan to pc you have to have the scan file utility set up on the pc

the scan file utility is on the CD that came with the copier.
you can Google the file if need be

when you have loaded the file you will need to go to
start, all programs, kyocera (scanner file utility and open it

once in configuration you will need to do the following

select setup
on the top you will see a box, type in 001
file destination, you should hit the box next to this and select kyocera/scan file

press ok and you are done

Next
get the ip address of the scanner, you will find this in scanner default when you have pressed thecounter/system menu button

get back into normal copy mode

on your web browser type the scanner ip into the address bar and you will get into the scanner command center

press the start icon bottom left of your desktop, go to run and type in cmd

once in dos mode type in ipconfig, this will give tou the destination address for your scans

now back to the command center, select sender info (left side menu) and type in kyocera after selecting 001 (blue numbers) and submit

then go to destination setup (scan to pc) and under 001 (blue) enter the relavent info, the address will be your pc's ip address.

say no to all password requests

and submit

very important now is to close the browser as you cannot scan when the command center is open

please take the time to rate this fix

KM-1820 scanner setup

The KM-1820 to scan to PC is using SMB, FTP or e-mail.

for SMB:
I am assuming you have the KM-1820 connected within the network and a static IP address for it.
open any Internet browser and go to KM-1820's IP address.
You should see the Command Centre web page.
Go to Basic page and add/register a contact within the Address Book.
Give a name and at the SMB section field, fill up with your computer hostname or the ip address of your computer where you want to scan. Fill up the user name with the local user name - the one what you are using to get into your computer - or create a new LOCAL user for your PC lets say "kyocera". So for SMB will be your computer and username: kyocera. (You will need a password for that computer user (kyocera) ). Then create a folder "scan" where you want ot receive the scanned files and add "scan" at the path field (SMB section of that webpage - command center).
Now share the folder "scan" as "scan".

if you want you can always use the scan to e-mail !! but you need a smtp server. All the settings can be done using that command center webpage.

How do we set up proper ftp server connection to receive scanned images with our Toshiba 232. the current file path is \\10.0.1.5/Scans\ but when we try to scan we get a FILE STORAGE ERROR. we have entered...

the path is all \'s not /'s. 10.0.1.5 needs a shared folder named scans and the copier needs a users valid login name / password for the computer sharing the scans\ directory.
