Question about HP Pavilion F1703 17" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

Our hp pavilion f 1703 was working fine yesterday. when I turned off the computer to reboot it, the screen was black and did not turn back on. My husband thought it was the hard drive so he took that apart and cleanded everything. The hard drive is working and the monitor is still black screen. I am using an old monitor right now so we know it is something wrong with that. Can you help?

There is a single bad joint on the power circuit board. It is hard to describe witch joint it is using words. Google image search should give you a picture of the joint you need to fix. Also with this monitor you should replace the 4 transistors on that board. Good luck. I hope this helped.

Your Monitor is most likly faulty as you say.
Here is a link describing a comman problem and if you or a friend are handy with a soldering iron you might be able to repair it.

HP pavilion dv 9410us will not start. Worked fine until yesterday, tried to start, lcd lights up for one second and then shuts off. tried removing and switching memory modules.

Try this
1. Remove battery and ac adaptor and then press and hold power button for 10sec and reboot.
2. Reseat ram and hard drive and then check.
3. If u face the same problem nothing much you can do but i can tell you hp has issues with some notebooks motherboard which has a technical fault from factory ship, call them up give the product and serial no: if your computer computer they can tell you if the motherboard can be replaced free of cost or not.
( Before that try going to bios by turning on the computer and start tapping f10 key and if you reach the bios screen run hdd test from the option diagonostic or tools.)

Hp g50-118nr screen went black

Reinstall your Sound/audio drivers all again, that will also install your sound panel Go to manufacturers web site and get them there.
You must install BOTH the sound drivers there too. In fact check all your drivers are the latest and replace as necessary. Simply download, to say desktop, and install one by one, rebooting between installs ask usually asked.

Mymonitor is black and the on button from the monitor is green and is flashing

i havent seen this question asked, and believe me i have searched. i have compaq presario, windows xp media edition 2005, 64 amd processor, model # SR2017CL, with HP 1703 17" monitor. Prob-put computer in hibernate mode other evening, without turning it off. when i woke up, screen had diagonal lines going across it. i rebooted, well manually restarted, since comp would not respond.
Message comes up white with black writing, essentially, prob with active desktop, restore or turn off. i tried to turn off and screen went back to diag. lines. looks like the horizontal hold of a tv screen is asque. tried adjusting monitor to no avail.
tried a few more times, was fine for a few mins then went to same thing. now when i turn monitor on it blinks red, blue, and so on.
just whole screen that color. so i am at the point where i dont
know if its the comp or the monitor. (i am quite a newby)
ty for any help you can give
