SOURCE: dash lights

From the dashboard. 2 days prior to this my Airbag light fuse went out, I replaced it and now it works fine again. I am not sure if they have anything to do with eachother.

SOURCE: dash board cluster lights are out 94 jeep grand cherokee

The sensor is located in the very front on top of engine slightly to the right, If you open the hood and lean over the engine just so you can see through the gap between the fan and the engine you will see two rubber radatior hoses kinda to the left then you will see the sensor to the right of them ,kinda looks like a spark plug with a plastic plug on the end of it with two wires connected to it.It screws into the ingine.

SOURCE: 2000 XJ dash lights

From your description it would appear you have an intermittent short to ground on the dash light power circuit.
It may be as simple as wire insulation being cut on a sharp metal edge, or the supply being shorted by a loose metallic object (such as a nut or washer) in a connected assembly.
Check any external wiring for damage - such as connection to foglights etc.
There is no easy fix here -just persistence.

My dash lamp and radio/ heater control lamps are out and I cannot find anything in the manual. I tested all of the fuses in the two fuse boxes I found, and they all tested good.

check the switch for the headlights that you turn on to put the lights on. make sure the dimmer switch part is not in the off position as this will turn the interior dash/radio/heater control lights off. just turn the dimmer switch to see if the lights re-appear.

Instrument panel lights dont come on

check the fuses first, if fuses are good then check for power at dimmer switch, also are all dash lights out. meaning no night light for heater control or cig lighter or radio, if thats the case then follow my advise, but if all other lights do work then go straight to checking the bulbs in the dash cluster. hope this helps.

My dash controls don't work or light up. the speedometer works and so does the radio.i had to pull the fuze to the heater because it will not shut off with the control button.

The dash lights are controlled by the headlight switch (depending on year) and a seperate fuse, if the lights on radio and heater control work it is probably not fuse but a dash relay or switch. If you have a library card you can log on to the harford county library ( I am sure most librarys have the same service) and go to the reference section pick out your year and model then select the electrical section or my even be a dashboard section. I have used this service many times and it has come in very helpful. Every year and model are a little different so a wiring schematic may come in very handy, which they also have. The hearter sounds like a control problem, electrical problems on Caddys are very difficult they have so many computers and relays almost impossible to fix them without seeing the car. good luck try to find a wiring schematic to see how the lights are Powered, go from there, ground etc. sorry can't be of more help hope i guided you somewhat.

WHEN YOU TURN ON PARK LIGHTS YOU SHOULD SEE THE DASH LIGHT FUSE GO HOT IF NOT SUSPECT THE HEAD LIGHT SWITCH
