Asko W6021 power is on, hear start click, but won't fill

Washer was working fine but on last wash, programme was finished but door would not open. Followed instructions to manually open door and successfully did so, but on trying to start next load of washing, it would not fill: the power is on and you can hear the click after pressing the start button, but you do not hear it starting to fill.......

Thanks. We have had no problems in the last 6 yrs.....I have also since read other problems which sound similar and the responses are fairly consistently to replace/check the carbon brushes. What are your thoughts on this and can you pls help to priotise the check list.

(We already checked and there is no problem with the water supply/inlet.)

How do you get to the tube/pressure switch and carbon brushes?

We live in a remote area and parts will take a while to get.....

Service-engineer has found the circuit-board to be the problem.

  • axelsen Apr 19, 2009

hmmmm..The Service Eng said it was the connection between the circuit board and the drainage pump....he applied his connectors and there was no current flow though that part of th cicuit Board there appeared to be a burnt look too. ....(unfortunatley he prtomised to give us a list of parts before he left on holiday ,....FOR 2 WKS!! - but didn't) How much is this to replace - is it expensive enough to warrant replacing a 6 yr old washer? Where can you order the parts?

  • axelsen Apr 19, 2009

Forgot to mention - we had already checked the inlet valve etc. We cleaned the screen, checked the water pressure etc

  • axelsen May 07, 2009

The link to www.repairclinic.com was great, the replacement circuit-board cost $300 plus $150 shipping and duty to Bermuda, plus $150 for the service-engineer to install, total $600 and we got a brand new Asko W6022 machine for $800! The old machine gave us 8 years of fantastic, fault free service :)

Yes.the circuit board is faulty.and the service technician gave you the proper advise.the cost of new circuit board is near to 30% of the cost of new machine.

so if the machine is too old.think twice before ordering the new board.

you can get the new board at
www.repairclinic.com

please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.thanks.

If it doesn’t fill, the water inlet screens may be blocked, as you hear the click that mean the magnetic valve is opening, but something is blocking the water to come in. I dont think it is the control panel.

This is issue with :-

  • Water mixing valve
  • Water mixing valve filters
  • Water temperature switch
  • Water level switch
Let me know if you need further assistance.. Thanks

Replacing the carbon brushes is the way to go.
In order to get to them you will have to remove the motor from the machine and then you will have easy access to them. They are situated in the motor under the outer drum these are held in by 2 star screws and are covered in a plastic casing if under 8ml in length. Once you replace them you should be up and running.

Asko w6021 still not working

check that all the plugs are in the correct position on the board, you may have introduced the fault, because the only fault you had to start with was worn carbons.did you break off any links maybe J4 etc if the original board had the link taken off and you dont do it on the new board you will hard program the new board and will have to order another board. is the machine heating.put on wool wash and select heating you should hear it start to heat.let me know.thanks Ian
