My dads mp3 says he has no music on it under artist or albulm. He has to go into browse files to find it all, and it wont play anything due to an 'error'. It is showing he has used almost all his memory tho' so I cant see how it has all been deleted. Does someone know how to fix this or at least what has happened?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format.
You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player.
For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.
Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :-
you wish to combine music from the same artist or various artists? the same artist will go under that artist name... various artist you will create a folder (play list... slow jams, dance tracks or even genre)
example Hip Hop will be all in one folder or all My Chemical Romance live / studio in one folder
connect device to PC, start/my computer/see device open it, right click new folder... now open new window find files click and drag or copy and paste files from where the files are to the newly name folder
note once you finish do not disconnect... disconnect using hardware removal safely
Labeling Unkown Songs: open Windows Media Player and go to libary click on artist. The sub folders will be named by the artists and the unknown songs will be in the sub that say's unknown. Click on unknown then right click on the title bar put a check next to artist and album artist. Right click song under artist or album artist or both and type in the name of the artist etc.... This change in your computers Music folders also then syc with your sansa or media player then load songs to it........
Found the fix!!!! The problem is not in the phone itself. When you save your MP3 clip on your pc,Make sure it;s under 300KB.Go to where you saved the MP3 clip and right click the MP3.Click on properties and then click on the summary tab.If it has a tab at the bottom that says advanced, click it.You need to change your fields under the "Music".Left click out to the side of the artist, albulm title, year and so on and put anything you wish.Just make sure to change the "Genre" to(other).Just fool around with changing the empty spaces and putting in whatever you wish.Once you do this click apply and it will save the settings. Then transfer the file to your phone and it should be able to use it as a ringtone.any questions just post and i will do my best to answer.
Changing the filename won't change to artist, title, album ext... The easiest way I know of to change this is with MediaMonkey, a free media player. Click the link and install and open Mediamonkey. Find your MP3 player on the left side to browse the music. Highlight the music that you want to change the artist for in your MP3 player, right click>Properties. You can also create playlists with MediaMonkey.
This means that your Library is corrupted and needs to be recreated this will not delete you *.omg files just you library.
Please delete your Library: Go to the Windows Explorer, and make sure to make hidden files visible (go to the Tools on the menu and click the Folder Options, then on the View tab, select the Show hidden files and folder.)
Browse to C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\CONNECT Player\Library and delete all the files located in this folder.
Then, recreate a new library.
Well first of all, all music purchased from iTunes is in mp4 format, not mp3. You will have to convert you music to mp3 format for it to work. The retail version of nero, works well for that. Another option is to burn your music to cd, then reimport it into your music library, from the cd, as mp3. You'll have to change some setting though if you go that route.
If you use a fileshare program to download music, sometimes some of the song information is changed and/or deleted. The album information is probably still with the song, but the artist info isn't. It's really stupid but the only thing you can do is just find the song through albums instead of artist.
