I am having trouble printing anything off internet or text document. I can print pictures but nothing else. I recently bought this used and installed colored ink. If black was empty, couldn't I print words in color?

As this unit was recently relocated, the method in which it was relocated could help explain where the problem may be.
If the unit was carried by hand and carefully, then there could be a seating problem or loose hardware inside the unit enclosure.
If the unit was shipped by a mover (meaning it was packed and boxed) then the problem could be a broken paper tray sensor, a misalignment of the print cartridges, a misalignment in the print cartridge belt, or something related to the ‘print cartridge position sensors’
Something to consider is that just because there is paper in the unit, does not mean that the sensor logic is functioning properly to report this condition.
Please try the 'test sheet' (or sample printout' first) before you attempt anything else. You DO need the software to access the spooler memory cache and/or store a document before printing. See if you can
run the direct USD test program and test it from your system.
When you print a color document do you get any color output ?. You may want to try to print a test color document, consisting of say Red, Green and Blue color blocks. If any of the blocks is missing you may want to replace your color cartridge.
I have an X75 at home and I remember the computer has to be on to copy, so it's really just doing a scan and then an immediate print. Are you copying from the button on the X75 or from the All-In-One Center software on the computer? If the button, try it from the software.
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
1. The color required to print the text ( ie: black or a variation of ) may have run out and needs to be refilled or replaced.
2. The other way that could help, is to select only the text you wish to print, by highlighting the entire text of the email, and then press and hold Ctrl while you press P to bring up printing shortcut menu and then check the "Print selected only" before attempting to print.
This should give you only the selected text, but if your black or the color required to print is empty, it may appear blank on the page, or show a low ink error.
Uninstall every instance of AOL. Go to the tools>internet options>advacnced to se if background printing is checked. Font can be printed as small as 1024x768 on some printers. The X75 is a buggy printer and Lexmark has had several problems with this model.
