Question about Canon FAXPHONE L80 Laser

1 Answer

Check paper size comes up all the time. Also pulls anywhere from 4 - 10 blank pages through at once.

Pulls multi papers through at once when receiving a fax or when printing a fax confirmation. Tried to call tech support and got now help. This unit is less than 30 days old. Tech support said nothing wrong with machine because he had me make a copy with only 4 pieces of paper in tray and it only pulled one page that time. I was told it had to be our paper. I have bought 2 different kinds of Copy paper 20lb. We fan the paper prior to using it. I don't believe it is the paper. I bought this fax because it had the capacity to load 100 pages (per manual). Tech suggested we load 10 pages. Not going to work when I receive faxes that are 50 + pages at one time. It also them flashes check paper size all the time. Any help would be greatly appre.

We can send faxes with no issues but when we receive a fax that has multiple pages after the first couple of pages we get half pages, partial prin or blank pages. We were told it was a possible system...

Is it pulling two pages at once? Sometime a machine will start to pull a sheet normally, then the page below it will get dragged along by the friction between the two sheets. One page's print gets divided between the two. If that looks like the case, pull out the paper drawer, remove the paper, and lightly sand the little rubber or cork pad at the front, then wipe the dust off with a damp cloth and let it dry. Before putting the paper back in, grasp the stack at one end, and "fan" the other, allowing air to get between all the sheets.

Get into the machine's Paper menu to see what size is programmed for the tray. If you have Letter size in there, but it's set for some other size, all kinds of feeding problems can occur, including false jams.

The paper feed roller is controlled by a magnet lever inside the right side of the machine. It should click once to start each sheet feeding. I've seen one Fax 4100e that clicked over and over, feeding extra sheets, just like you described. It turned out to be the system board. Worse yet, Brother had switched factories in mid-production of this model, and the replacement board they sent us fed paper just fine, but wouldn't do anything right on the phone line. Couldn't dial, couldn't answer. They sent another replacement, and it was exactly the same. Brother eventually broke down and sent a replacement machine.

How do i fax multi pages at once

Your document feeder should allow you it install a stack of originals, amount depends on machine specifications. Dial one number and send your multi-page document.

if not the feeder tires may need to be cleaned, a few drops of alcohol in the center of a clean piece of paper then run it through the feeder, put the paper in then when it stops press the stop button and it should eject the document, in doing so pass the alcohol past the feed tires. do this a couple of times then try your multi-page document again.

Hope this helps

When receiving faxes, every other page comes out blank. What can we do?

sounds like your paper is set to the wrong size. press "menu" "2" "1" "6" to make sure auto reduction is on. if it is, press "stop/exit" until you see "2. fax", use your arrow keys to get to "1. general setup", press "1" again to check to make sure your paper size is set to letter. if none of this helps, write back and possibly i can help further.

Printer will not print, keeps rejecting paper saying it is too narrow. the paper is the correct size. i nee help immediately please

OK there is three places you have to check for correct papersize,-
1)In the settings on the machine
2)On the driver of the printer ,ON your computer -Start,Control panel,Printers and faxes,Right click on driver- Properties,Then you enter the correct paper size.
3)In the page setup in the program you are printing from.File, page setup, set the correct paper size.

Normaly the settings for 1and 2 you enter once and it stays there ,except if some one change it.
Every program have it's own paper size defauld settings.Check them before you print.
