A problem with my philips gogear

I have a SA28XX 2gb mp3 player am i'm having a problem with it. when i try to open it, it appears normally on the screen: philips, then, go gear, then it says: register your product and get support at www.philips.com/welcome. then, the mp3 shuts down or it stays for a looong time with this mesage ( i don't know how long. ) but i can't enter in the menu, listen tp music, etc. when i connect it to pc, it is recognized, i can add/remove music. what`s this all about? ( i updated it, too, but no result )

Ok, just make sure you put songs that are compatible with the player like mp3 or wma, but most preferably, mp3. if you put any other format than mp3 it will only appear as a file in the flash and will not play.

What I would do is open your mp3 player through my computer and copy all your music, photos, and viideos onto your computer. Then I would go and download the firmwear from the manufacture and reflash your player. That will set it back to the factory settings.

My mp3 player has been formatted


I have the same problem. I have accidentally delete/formated my mp3 player (gogear sa28xx). But i connected to computer, and i tried to repair it, but after an half an hour, nothing... can you help me? Or if you have the files.. Cheers. Paul

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

My player gets stuck and shuts down only after a day..!!


Try doing a repair in the Philips Device Manager, but it may not be enough to rid the player of a virus. Definitely worth a shot, though.
