Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

Honeywell thermostat reads ''-AC'' what does this mean?

We had a power outage and then it returned about 20 minutes later. Since then the thermostat reads -AC and won't kick the heat or the Air Conditioning on. It won't alllow me to program anything either.

Honeywell Chronotherm iv Plus power cuts on and off

There's a trouble shooting guide here, you need to check for the presence of 24V when it goes blank, and trace back to where it's disappearing (I assume it is losing the 24v, if not you'll need to go through the installer setup or read on...
My first thought would be to check the wiring which has been touched last if it started doing that after you had coil replaced.
As an aside I'm not sure which model you have but if it has batteries you should replace them (I don't think it does have batteries but not seen a model iv so I'm unsure)

Reset after power outage

Most programmable thermostats have batteries to keep the program from being lost in a power outage. If you thermostat has dead batteries or no batteries a power outage will cause the thermostat to revert to a default setting and it will have to be reprogrammed. Hope this helps.

My Honeywell Thermostat Mdel # T8011R displays all the icons at the same time. This occured when returning from an electrical outatge.

After being disconnected from the expert, whom wasn't of any help, I called our AC/Heater maint. person for service. Upon hearing the problem he told me to turn the power source off for at least 30 minutes. After restoring the power source everything worked fine. The secrret is leaving the source off for at least 30 minutes. Your expert advised to turn the source Off and then back On which didn't solve anything. This remedy may work with other Honeywell models as well.

In all due respect, I hope I'm not charged for the lack of results which your expert provided.

-AC appears in the display of chronotherm III

I have had the same problem- twice. It was a similar but different problem each time. The -AC means the ac control voltage isnt making it to the thermostat. In my case both times it was a switch in the control circuit that wasn't closing properly. The easiest was the front cover switch. If the front cover is removed from the furnace or has vibrated loose, the switch will open, preventing the furnace from running. The other instance I ran into was a flow switch on the exhaust blower which ensures the there is flow OUT the chimney. The switch wasn't functioning, so the furnace wouldn't start. The blower would come on for a short time, but the burners wouldn't light.

Hope this helps,
