Reach in there and try turning the drum. If it seems stiff you could have bad glides. Or something in the blower housing. Might even be a bad center tub bearing. Some times the wheel nearest the heater gets overheated due to a kinked or clogged vent. That will cause stalling. If the motor is bad she will be in growl mode. If it just won't start up could just be the above mentioned items. I have plenty of dryer pictorals and manuals on my Youtube DIY Channel
sounds like you have a bad motor, when it heats up it's stalling and when you go to restart it there are start windings and run windings in the motor it's not switching over to the run windings so when you hold the start switch in you're sending constant power to the motor, all it does is when you push the button it's a momentary switch power goes to the motor and hits the start winding in the motor should be just for a moment, then it switches over to the run winding and this keeps the motor running, your motor isn't doing this,
if it has power, then it is most likely the motor is trying to start. this is why you here the hummimg. good-day ! you might have to clean motor and oil the shaft, so the motor will run.
could have a bad timer, when it stalls try tapping on the timer or wiggling the knob to see if it will start, there's a little motor on the timer that you hear ticking and it could fail.
Either your belt is broken or the broken belt micro switch has failed.Or something is pinching the tub and stalling the motor so that it won't go into run mode. OR the motor is gone. No way to tell without taking a look see. I have a service pictorial HERE
sounds like the mtor over heated and stalled out . it will do it again . best to delint motor this will help to keeeep it cool and may prevent a lint fire . mm
Sounds like a defective motor starter contactor. DO NOT continue to try to use the dryer or you'll burn the motor out. The motor starter is built into the motor, but most are replaceable without replacing the entire motor.
Could also be the motor, but sounds like the motor is stuck in 'start' mode and never goes into 'run,' which would be the classic symptom of a stuck motor start contactor.
