ZANUSSI DE6855 DISHWASHER - NO HEAT FOR WASHING OR DRYING

It appears to progress through the cycles ok so I am thinking a heater problem? If so how is access gained to the heater? Any previous experiance on this fault would be appreciated.

Make sure you unplug before you start. I had the same problem with a DE6850. The heater was ok. Metered at 25.ohms. Apparently, the relay on the control board mounted in the front door behind the switches is a common fault. Remove the screws around the top part of the door and you will be able to get at the control module. Resolder the connection. Zanussi reliability has been lost. Brilliant
Perfect advice - DW now working again. I thought at first it would be the element but after circuit testing it as OK I found this web page.
    Thanx

+1 for the above. Followed the steps for the exact same fault. Sure enough, once i got the circuit board out, the burnt out solder joint looked the sam as the above picture. Re-Soldered the joint and all seems to be working well...Many thanks..

I have a Zanussi Izzi Alu dishwasher and it won't heat the water. But after following the steps mentioned above (especially resoldering the connections on the control module) it works perfectly again. Thank you very much for this solution!

I have Zanussi DX6453 dishwasher. Suddenly it is not drying our dishes. All programs working. Do you think is problem with Element or Thermostat. It is heating water.

sugget the water temperature, it relies on the temperature of the water to heat to items up so that when the wash cycle has finished the heat will dry them. Hope this is useful. Regards Mike

Electrolux de 6850 dishwasher

Hi,
I followed some of the good instructions already on Fixya. I had checked the heater and it was o.k. I then took the front door of the washer apart to get at the control box. Sure enough, I also had the common design fault. One leg of the rely had scorch marks and was now disconnected from the circuit board. I will solder tonight and test. I include a photo of the burned board. TNoel P8017c86.jpg

Zanussi da4342 dishwasher

The dishwasher should heat the water to about 55 C as the heating cycle starts. In these cycle, the dishwasher pauses after has filled with water and wait for the water to reach the temperature. If the water isn't being heated (because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues.
Another possible reason is that the timer unit is defective. If you have observed anything different post a comment.

I have the same problem if you take off the tray below the front door and set a small blow heater in there it will dry the out the anti flood switch. It usally takes about 25 mins for the machine to start working again.

No heat

You should check for 115/220v on heater tags, In case you don't have it, your problem is a malfunction thermostat that should be replaced. Good luck!
