In order to replace the belt on this unit you will need to pull the washing machine out to access the back panel of the washer. Your belt may not have broken, although if any wearing on the belt reccommend you replace it and make sure it fits properly in the groves on the motor to keep on the back wheel(pulley) of the after you rotate the drum from the wheel and make sure it is on, (you may need a ziptie to be removed before use. Rotate atleast 5 times with power off to make sure it is grooved properly. Replace service panel and return power.

Hope this helps. D&J Tech

Note: if this unit is still in warranty call a service tech. this may void any current or extended warranty.

70 series model 110.82873120. Why doesn't it spin?

If it is trying to spin but not then most likely the clutch is worn out and slipping. Not hard to replace. Sits on top of transmission looks like a brake drum from a car.

Kenmore agitates doenst spin

You will have to look at the inside of the washer when in spin cycle to see what is going on. Is the spinner motor not engaging the drum? Is the spinner working at all? It sounds like the spinner isn't being moved against the drum before the spin cycle starts. Most washers use a seperate spinner motor, which is lifted off the drum by a relay and / or solenoid and if one or more of those is malfunctioning, it will cause your described problem.

What would the cost be to tighten drum in washer

Sounds like the concrete weight is broken. It stabilises the unit while spinning. If the drum moves inside the tub, the bearing has collapsed

Overload affected performance. Even when only got 1 item in machine. Makes lots noise when spinning and inner large plastic seal looks like something caught on it and shredded some of plastic.

this fault can be caused by the drum halves becoming tight .they move together due to limescale deposits between the drum spiders. the noise is most likely a failing drum bearing
if the plastic seal is damaged then it will need a new drum assembly
they are no longer available from dyson due to supply problems
you may be able to get another machine from ebay and fix yours using parts from each machine to make one good one

During the spin cycle the washing machine becomes VERY noisy, sounds like its off-balance, but happens EVERY time, even with very small loads. The whole unit doesn't move when it happens, just extremely...

During the spin cycle the drum moves at a higher RPM and so the counter weight of the clothes within can make the drum rotate eccentric or out of sync.
So check if the belt is loose on the motor, checck if the spindle is tight with friction or the drum assembly suspension is out of alignment.
You must check the reason with the following points to confirm the drum spinning making noise. check point of noise , is this on hitting the sides , or from the motor, any foreign objects or the drum spindle. But you are the judge with a first view. Use good lighting to look out and confirm the fault.
