Go to start then run type cmd (enter) this will bring up the command box type msconfig (enter) the ua box will come up just hit continue and a box will come up go to the start up tab un check the items you don't want to start on start up the restart your system. you may get a message when you reboot that the system has changed just allow it because you made the changes and you are set to go.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Control windows 7 startup programmes

I would get CCleaner. It's totally FREE and very easy to use. It will allow you to easily change which programs you want to load at startup and you can clean off a ton of junk files in a single click. You can get it here:

Voice quality of a video and audio is very bad. I have install drivers from acer website but the sound plays like its crashed and video also doesn't play properly. I've install and uninstall driver...

Your video problem could be due to the codecs you have/haven't got installed. Go to Filehippo.com (http://www.filehippo.com) download and install VLC media player, its one of the best free medial players available.

You'll find that the XP you have loaded and running, so long as its up to date (SP3) is probably as good as you're going to get.

Something to check, when booting does it ask you which windows installation do you want to load, if so, you've got windows installed twice and it will slow things down, re-install making sure that you delete all partitions before installing.

If this isn't the case, you may be running loads of programmes straight from startup. Again from Filehippo.com download and install Ccleaner.

From the tools menu on the left, select startup and remove all programmes from the start up menu except for antivirus and firewall software and anything else which looks necessary. You can choose to disable them rather than remove if unsure. You will still be able to access the programmes from Start-All programmes or via icon. They just won't be starting with your computer.

Also check out the other menu options on ccleaner, great programme.

Aspire 3680-2682 just too slow

Hi,
To stop the machine shutting down,
Go to Microsoft and install updates,
Service packs etc...
Then run a scan to check for viruses.
This should stop the shutdowns ( if there is no damage to system already ) this should resolve that problem,
Wireless is abit slower ( that's just wireless )
Wired is better, if this is possible.
Slowness issue....
Run...Disk-cleanup, Defragmenter, ( from start, accessories, system tools )
Run CHKDSK.exe from a command promt, this is start, run box, type CMD, in the black screen command prompt, type CHKDSK.exe, this will check system files are good,( for the shut down issue too )
Delete any applications you do not use or are old. in Program's & feature / all programmes.
( in start, control panel, all programmes /features.
Scroll...check for outdated programmes, un-install them..
Increase the performance now.
Go to start, control panel, system, advanced system properties, advanced tab, performance tab, performance settings, under visual effects, adjust for best prformance.tick this box. ( better speed )

Increase the page file size too...
start, contol panel, system, system properties, advanced tab, under virtual memory, click change, click custom size, (( in the 2 white boxes put the recommended page file size ))
((look at the bottom it says total page file size for all drives-RECOMMENDED its the middle value ))
Put this figure in the 2 white boxes, click set, and click ok to complete procedure.
(( you should get a dialog box saying, you must restart system for the page file and the performance switch over to be functional.
Have a shut down and re-boot.
If this is done correctly, this will improve performane for you.

Regards

Richard.

Very slow

You need a good clean out in your registry and programmes you no longer use.  You laptop is slow because of this download this trial-ware called Tuneup Utilities at this address  http://www.tune-up.com  trial last 30 days so you have till then to make up your mind if you want to keep it.  It is also fully functional until it expires. Pay attention to the Start up Manager and stop all unnecessary programs from starting.  It will tell you which is needed and which you can turn off follow the instructions and you will be a happier person at the end of the rainbow.
