Normaly a rinse sorts the units out if weve not used them for aweek or so.Initially f1 came up but we know that one,now the top unit runs, counts down on timer to 60min and stays on that setting until i stop it,i empty it by using rinse and switching off prior to filling. It also keeps filling with water on rinse, sticking on 10 on both units, they both flash "turn off water inlet valve" and the dishwasher stops.
I have a fisher paykel dd603 dishwasher. If I select the normal wash setting on the top drawer, it posts the time in the lcd screen as 56 mins. The unit will wash as usual until it reaches the 28 min mark. At this point it will stay on 28 mins and continue to run, but it won't rinse or empty the drawer of water. Also it never counts down below the 28 min mark. It has flashed a F4 and F1 code. I've cleared them both, and checked to make sure that no water is standing on the bottom of the unit, and that the heating element is working. I should mention that the top drawer did overflow about two weeks ago, and that I did clean up the water. I don't know where to look from here. Any suggestions?

the dynamo dishwashing stuff has caused foaming which reached the base of the dishdrawer unit causing the flood switch to trip. This gives F1 error. Not sure how much foaming has occured.
Best to turn off power and take power cable out from socket. then empty the drawer using towels. pull out the bottom drawer and wait a day or so to let the foam disappear from the bottom of dishwasher (under the bottom drawer). Connect the power and see if F1 had gone. If not, you need more work. Post a comment based on the above suggestion and I will guide you further if required. Always use Finish dishwasher power only (recommended quantity) as the drawers are small and don't need much detergent.
At the end of the rails which the drawers slide in and out on should have some sort of pin that can be removed which would allow the drawers to slide all of the way out. Just be sure not to damage the pins/clips when removing so that they can be used again when putting the drawers back in.
I am assuming this F1 error is coming in only one drawer and that you are able to run the second drawer as normal.
In the case of your dishwasher the F1 error occured because the foam would have overflowed over the drawer top into the base of the unit. This would have triggered a flood switch which is there to protect water damage to the dishwasher. You can either wait a few more days until the base of the dishwasher drawer unit dries up or you can dry it yourself.
To dry the base, extend the drawer as far out as possible (turn mains power off first). The use a few towels and push them on to the base. Pull the towels out and dry the base especially the centre of it with a hair dryer.
The F1 should disappear once you put power back on .
Hope this helps. You have a very helful child who sets the dishwasher up. I have to keep pushing my children to even empty it.
Many modern appliances have error code build in to the control programing to help with the diagnosis of a failure. Frigidaire dishwashers with display s will flash Er then a two letter error code.

There is a small leak at the bottom housing and the flood sensor turn on the F1. After unplugging for a while, the sensor is dried out so it is OK. But it will come back again after a few runs. The top lid seal is leaking, Need to be replace ASAP.
The p2 code is your rinse thermistor is bad,if you gain access in the back on the top right side you will see a probe with 2 wires going into the rinse piping.Use a 7/16 wrench and unscrew.Very easy to replace. When the machine goes into the rinse cycle the temp display goes up/down?The part is about $60.Part # 328994.I'm a hobart tech any ? let me know and please rate me.
If you have checked everything that was mentioned (and none of them are the issue) then either the heater inside the unit is not coming on during the wash and rinse cycles and/or the fan motor inside the door is not coming on during the dry cycle. A technician can easily check this out with the correct tools and by putting the unit into test mode.
As for the top rack dishes being dirty and there being soap left in the dispenser, this sounds like wash motor is either weak or the vario motor is not switching between the upper and lower spray nozzles. The sump assembly should be replaced for this issue.
