Question about Adaptec (OP-CDRI-LIT-CDDVD) CD-RW/DVD-ROM (Combo) Burner
My Drive won't open. And when I try to open file to create cd it either freezes my computer or just stops responding at all.
If you have a cd in there you can manually get it by using a paperclip and inserting it into the small hole in the front of the drive. It may be possible that your drives are not receiving any power. Are any of the LEDs at the front of your drive on at any time? If not, then it is almost certain that your drives have become disconnected from your motherboard. If this is the case, just open up your computer and make sure that there are at least 2 cables going to each of your drives and that the power cable (which should have white ends with 4 pins) is indeed connected to your drive on one end and your power supply on the other end. Dont forget to check your Bios and try the drivers for an update.

A Wizard welcome screen will open. In this screen, click the underlined words for the advanced mode. This will open a tabbed screen. On the Welcome tab, choose the Automated System Recovery Wizard. Another Wizard will open. At this screen, click the "Next" button.
Insert the CD into your CD-burning drive. Double-check the file path and make sure the computer correctly searches for the CD burner. If it does not, click the "Browse" button, find the burner and click "OK." Once the correct path is in, press "Next." At the final screen, click "Finish." This begins the process of creating your restore CD.
