I have a TEAC MC-D95. I cannot get the CD to play. It loads OK, turns a few seconds and then stops....any suggestions?

It could be something on the CD dirt /scratch or the reader in the unit is faulty.

The CD drawer refuses to open when I push the open button.

I know this sounds a little brutal for what is after all is a delicate piece of hi-fi; I've just fixed mine by turning it upside down and giving it a good shake, knocking the underside a couple of times. The tray jumps out of its guide track, you're just shakin it back in.

I have plug my sansa mp3 player in the teac mc and it seems dead.

there may be a fuse in there or even on the back of the teac. if not on the back, then have to take the cover off, and just follow where the ac cord comes in and trace up to the switch, you may find a glass fuse there somewhere thats blown. In which case replace with an exact duplicate. (please be unplugged if you try this)

could be a coincidence make sure your cds are clean, clean the dust and grime off carefully with a very fine material soft cloth, cleaning from the inside to the outside but not in a circular fashion but in line formation from inner to outer ok...

also try using a cd head cleaner cd to clean the laser, the laser could be dirty

Static and skipping

You might need to have it professionally cleaned / diagnosed. The problem might not be a dirty reader, but a misaligned tray. Many trays, over time, become misaligned. Some more than others. Depends on your use and abuse of the unit. The issues generally happen towards the end of the tracks.

Hi, Your particular brand/model was made in the very early 2000. It is possible that the eye (optical lens) is already weak and would need replacement or calibration. You may want to try and clean the lens hopefully improving the reading capability. Some users of CD players use a PC CD cleaner to clean the eye (pls read the instructions) though this can be done by going inside the unit). Probably your best bet is to seek the services of a qualified professional. Hope this be of some help and give you ideas. Pls post again how things turn up and/or if you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Identical problem with my 4-month old player. I mailed the unit to the repair shop noted on their web page (Montebello, CA). They "re-soldered a loose connection" and made a "mechanical adjustment". I got the player back in two days. It now works fine (again). Under warrenty; no charge.
