If you are not getting any error messages, I suspect you definitely have a printer hardware problem, especially if it prints fine from Windows. Best to contact Canon's technical support with this one
Go to printer in Control Panel-> Printers, select properties, the Canon utilities will include a cleaning option, along with aligning. Canon cartridges can be really finicky though; don't be surprised if it doesn't work at all.
