Thanks for getting back to me. I did all the above, but no it didn't work. It says it's ready and online but still the light flashes. Printer queue is empty. I can't force a test page either. I'm at a loss.

Yes I've done that as well, and the cartridges are fairly new. I've discovered that when I try to print, there is an error 54 which is a corrupted printer spool but I delete the queue again and still is not working. I've never downloaded the software for this. (printer worked fine by just plugging into new computer) My original CD is not any good for vista which I now have. There are no device downloads to vista for this printer either.

nothing seems to work. Where can I get the software that comes with the printer?

I had same problem. If there are no print jobs in query and you've tried powering down the printer and restarting the computer, disconnect the USB cable. If the light is still blinking when you turn the printer on, remove either the black or the color print cartridge, close the cover and if the light is still blinking install the cartridge you took out and remove the other. My black cartridge went bad apparently and when I replaced it, no blinking light.

I can offer a few steps that might help. Try them and let me know if it does the trick.

Turn off the printer.
Turn off the computer that is connected to it.
Take the power cord out of the printer. Keep it out for now.
Start up the computer.
Check under the printers folder to see if there are jobs stuck in the printer que. If there are jobs listed then right click on them and cancel them. If there are no jobs listed then try right clicking on the printer and make sure that it isn't listed as off line. If it is listed as off line, plug the printer back in and power it up. Once it's powered up, check the menu item to mark it as online.
If that doesn't do the trick you can try holding down the power button for a couple of seconds and this should force a test print which might clear things.
Write back and let me know how this solution worked for you.
Thanks.

Computer says printer is offline. USB connection into HP Laserjet 2600n printer has yellow light blinking? Have reset everything and will still not print.

Printer lights can blink for more than one reason, so the solution can vary. These solutions need not be performed in a specific order, but solutions for the most common issues are presented first.
Blinking lights are often accompanied by an error message on the computer screen, which might help determine the solution.

Blinking lights, ''offline'' status - hp deskjet d2360

If it used to work, then try unplugging and reconnecting the AC power cable for USB scanners. No guarantees at all, but it may work. Unplugging and reconnecting the Firewire cable in XP also sometimes works. Give it a few seconds to be detected.

Did you have surge protection on this printer? If not, when the power went back on, the surge of current may have damaged it. Surge protection is very important on all devices with electronics in them! If it wasn't a very expensive printer to begin with, it won't be worth fixing whatever the cause. You can take it too a computer store and have it looked at, but they will charge for that, of course.
