Motor is having trouble getting started. Once going it works OK

I replaced the start capacitor, but it continues to have the same problem. Here it is: I hit the "start" button and the blade moves slowly for a few seconds and either starts up to full speed, or shuts off. If it shuts off, then I have to wait a few seconds for the switch to reset so that I can try it again.

All signs point to the start capacitor, but that doesn't seem to be it.

Does it have a run capacitor? Maybe that's the culprit.

Does it have a centrifugal switch for disconnecting the start winding and engaging the run winding? If so, could the centrifugal switch be stuck.

How to repair a SALTON Vita Pro Juicer that won't start

If you're comfortable with taking the juicer apart and have some technical experience, here are some additional steps you can take to diagnose and repair the issue:
  1. Check the power supply: Use a multimeter to check the voltage output of the power supply. If the voltage is lower than what is required by the juicer, the motor won't receive enough power to start. Replace the power supply if necessary.
  2. Check the motor capacitor: The motor capacitor helps to start the motor and keep it running. If the capacitor is faulty, the motor won't start. You can test the capacitor with a multimeter to see if it's working properly. If it's not, replace the capacitor.
  3. Check the motor windings: The motor windings can become damaged or burned out, which will prevent the motor from starting. You can test the windings with a multimeter to see if there is continuity between them. If there isn't, you may need to replace the motor.
  4. Check the switch: The switch can become faulty, preventing power from reaching the motor. Use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If it's not working properly, replace the switch.
  5. Check the fuse: Some juicers have a fuse that can blow out if there is a power surge or other electrical issue. Check the fuse with a multimeter to see if it's blown. If it is, replace the fuse.
If you feel the above cannot help , I strongly believe it will help, you can consider replacing with a cheaper one like:

NT48/1 professional karcher not working. Changed fuse in the plug yet still not working. Replaced the filter. Still not working. Could be the motor not working?

Is the motor running? If not, did you check the starting capacitor?
Did you check motor windings for continuity? Did the pump seize? Is electricity reaching the unit - wire ok?

Pump makes a humming sound but will not run

Don't run it hot or it will stop working.
Sounds like start capacitor has gone bad.

Will not start. motor hums

Turn the motor on then immediately help it by spinning the chuck. If it spins up to speed and runs OK, you have a bad start capacitor on the motor. If it still does not work you may have something jambed in the pulley/belt system on top or a shorted out motor.

Starting capacitor?

How hard is it to turn by hand? Anything binding? The starter windings can be replaced in the back of the motor, depends on the size. The capacitor, if it is shot, the motor would not run at all. Get the motor spinning again and take a stick and rub it against the pulley, if you can stop it, it has lost power, If you can't stop it, it should be fixable. Hope this helps.

Motor hums but won't kick in

Hi simpsonruth1..
In the back of the compressor motor you will see a fan, remove the plastic cover to get to it..
Once you have the plastic cover removed and the fan exposed, plug the compressor in and spin the fan with your fingers...be quick as the fan could cut your fingers if you do not get them out of the way..
If the compressor starts working, then the start capacitor is bad on the compressor...if it does not run then you have motor troubles, either replace the motor or get it rewound.

Will not start when cold.

sounds like you have a weak power board, it could be a simple fix, its mostly to be weak capacitors, that will need replacing, you need to identify the faulty ones on the power board any that are rounded topped i.e not flat when looking from the side of them, they will need replacing with the same value i.e if they 16v 33uf then replace them with the same, also if the temp is on the 85c or 100c it dont matter but its best to replace them with 100c as they can handle more heat, as power board can get hot and over time the weak temp capacitors wear out due to the heat.

Kenmore Dishwasher does not wash

Stew, Im not really sure what model you have 665, 587, 363 or what. If it's a 665, it sounds like the wash motor is not getting power. Remove the toe panel and look at the start capacitor. See if one of the wires came off during the reinstallation. Should be on the left side of the wash motor. If one of the wires is off, wash motor won't run. If that's ok, check the main harness to the motor. Catriver
