Re: no picture

It is probably in "progressive scan" mode, which is only viewable on Component (RGB) inputs. Refer to manual to toggle back to "interlace" mode. Either that or you have the TV on the wrong input.

How do i get the menu back on the screen dvd player

Unplug the device from AC mains wall socket, and plug it back after 5 minutes or so. This must make a hard reset to your device. If it do not help you, enter into its menu and make it a factory reset. If this too do not help you, seek tech support.

Hi. We have a Sony dvd player dvp-sr200p and have a wide screen tv, when we play a dvd we get a small square picture with black sides. We would like the have a full picture like we had before. Could...

With the player in STOP mode, or without a disc inserted, press DISPLAY on the remote. Then press either the UP or DOWN arrow keys (on remote) to scroll down from LANGUAGE setup to SCREEN SETUP, then highlight the aspect ratio which best suits the connected TV, in this case 16:9 widescreen (according to the manual the default aspect is 4:3 letterbox). Once you have made the change, exit the setup. It should remember the setting you have made.

Pages 26 to 27 of the owner's manual illustrate the setup procedure for this model DVD player.

NOTE: some DVDs may be encoded as 4:3 titles, hence you will see black borders at the left and right sides of a widescreen TV. Not all DVD movies are encoded in the 16:9 aspect ratio.

However, you can check your player's setup menu just to be sure.

I have lost the remote controller for our Sansui VCR/DVD player combo, Platinum Plus model. I bought a universal controller and got it to turn the player on and off but I can't get a picture ont he TV. ...

We would be happy to help you get your TV back up and running. Thefirst thing we want to ensure is that all connected equipment is on.Wealso need to know what channel your TV2 is currently on, we will do this byturning the TV off then back on and noting the channel or input that appears onscreen when the TV is powered on, if the TV is not on channel 60 or 73, tune to60 or 73. Then Access "Modulator Setup"from TV1 by pressing"Menu", 6 for "System Setup", 1 for"Installation", then 5 for "Modulator Setup". Tune TV2 tothe channel that appears under "TV2 Out"on screen. If stillno picture and the mode for TV2 is "Cable", change it to"Air" and change the channel on your TV2 to 60, if it is already on"Air" then change it to "Cable" then change TV2 to channel73. If the issue is only on one receiver, unplug the DISH receiver for10 seconds and plug back in. The next thing we want to check is the connectionon the back of your receiver labeled "Home Distribution", this cablecarries the picture all the way to your TV2. Start by removing the connectionand screwing it back in, make sure all the connections going to your TV2 arehand tight. These steps should get your TV2 up and running.

I have a Pioneer DV-525 DVD player, and recently upgraded from a 4:3 TV to a widescreen TV. However, under the Setup menu, it won't let me change the setting to 16:9. The options are grayed out, and I...

The DVD movie has to be a "widescreen" version...

Check the cover of your DVD movies ... there may be one or more widescreen DVD's in your collection...

That should work.

What widescreen TV did you get? Brand / model.
If it is Samsung ... on the remote, press the "p.size" button (and wait) ... continue pressing and waiting after each press to see if the Samsung will adjust ... You may get a distorted pic ... like very short and very wide people.

What TV Brand / model??

No picture on initial portable dvd player

Make sure it's not turned to a different output, like it expects to be plugged in to a tv screen.

Setup Menu will not display on TV screen

Ok, on the back of the unit, there is a single yellow composite output. There may also be a Red, green,blue.Component. Take 1 RCA cable and plug it into that yellow output, and route it into your TV input, also a yellow composite. Make sure that whatever input you put that into on the tv, that you change the TV input to that to view your player. when and if you get a picture, you should be able to get to the menu through the GOVID remote.

Later once that Path is working, you can upgrade it to the Red,. green, blue, if your TV has the inputs. You did not give a model for the TV or I could tell you what it has.

If you need any more clarification, please reply.

Best Regards,

Suddenly cannot record DVD after years

Apologies for the delay in response. Your concern was just brought to my attention.

To your recording, based on your second posting (and would appreciate corrective information where applicable), your system is:
  • Cable provider > Cable Decoder Box > Panasonic DMR-E75V > TV (equipment setup)
  • single coaxial cable > yellow, red & white > yellow, red & white (wiring setup).
With your indulgence, a couple clarifying questions:
  • to watch the Panasonic when you play DVDs, to what channel or source or setting must the TV be set to?
  • to record a TV program/channel, to what channel or source or setting must the Panasonic be set to?
  • what is the brand and model of your Cable Decoder Box?
Initially, pls try:
  • play any known good DVD disc/movie. power on the TV and set to watch said movie;
  • without changing anything on the TV, STOP the playing of the DVD;
  • try changing channel on your Cable Decoder Box's remote;
  • pls post back result(s); or
  • do the above steps again but before changing the channels on the decoder box's remote;
  • try changing/cycling through the different input/source of the Panasonic DVD;
  • again post back result(s).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
