It keeps scrolling through the channels, I cannot make it lock on any one channel, it is like being stuck in a search or scan mode.

I honestly do not understand your reply. I cannot lock it on ANY channel, it just keeps scrolling.

Yhat is what i am thinking, where do I get a new TACT switch.

  • msgarrett95 Sep 30, 2007

I removed the back of the TV and removed the printed wiring board that is on the backside of the buttons on the front of the TV. I pressed all of the switches on the PWB, they all seemed to be functioning. I reconnected the TV and powered it up, and with the PWB in hand, (it has an extra long connector cable) I checked the channels. It worked. No replacing switches, PWB's or any soldering. The malfunctioning switch must have just been stuck. I reassembled the whole thing and it works fine (don't forget to ground yourself when you are touching the electrical components).

Most likely there is some kind of contamination on the channel up or down pushbutton. The pushbutton is the actual little switch right behind the button on the front of the TV. If something is sprayed on the screen, such as spray cleaner or a child's drink, it could seep down and contaminate the pushbuttons and board. This could cause leakage inside the pushbutton, and the computer reads this as someone pushing that particular button and responds accordingly. The board can be cleaned and the contaminated pushbuttons replaced, but that should be done by a qualified tech.

Keep the channel in any one of the program no. say for example channel no. is 5. Keep the channel as it is, now check the program is scrolling but the channel no. will not change in to 6,7,8,9.... like that. Suppose there is a change in program means AFT section is not working properly. Apart from number also changing means, in menu options check any child lock or keypad lock features. Anyone is present locked the system and then give feedback symptoms.

Have you tried to unplug the TV set for a half hour or so? If not see if that helps reset the set. If that does not work, make sure that none of the front panel channels buttons on the front of the TV set is not pushed in and stuck. Or if all this is checked and the TV set still scrolls, there is a problem in the remote sensor, or the front panel board will need to be replaced. Good Luck

Common problem, replace rgw front control board, or if this model does not have a front control board, replace the small switch behind the channel up and down buttons first. This will involve soldering. If you have no soldering experience, please play it safe and take the set into a repair shop. Good Luck

My samsung tv channels keep scrolling from 135

Hi Jorge

Check on the remote if the buttons aren't stuck / sticking then check on the side panel of the television if the button there are not pressing against anything.

Lastly check to see your channel setup is fine and do a auto scan for the channels to ensure that it's not a memory issue

I had the same problem and eventually found the solution. the tact switches behind the front panel buttons will leak when they get old causing them to activate on their own. your channel up or down button is stuck on. take off the back cover and you will see a small clip in circuit board behind the front panel. take out the board and remove the channel up or down switch and your set should work fine again. the remote will still work fine for changing the channels.

Sounds like it has one of two problems first one could be a stuck button. The micro locks up and the set wont come on also could be causing the channel scrolling run you finger along the channel buttons. Other than that you would need a new signal board you have a locked up micro...this part will be No longer Available.
