New Kenmore Dishwasher Model 587-1401 has...

We have just had installed a Kenmore dishwasher, model 585-1401, and we have found it has a strong--very strong--plastic odor.

So far, we have run three complete washes with Cascade Complete, and the odor continues. We are afraid that the odor will permiate our dishware, and we worry that the odor may indicate a toxicity problem that could lead to illness.

What should we do?

Use a descaling agent.Clr (calcium,lime,rust) remover availiable at super markets,drugstores.Pour a cup in and run a couple of cycles.When finished keep the door open to air dry.
