Make sure that your chain isn't adjusted too tightly, and that you've adjusted the force settings on your opener. There is also a little black plastic wheel with slots on it that must be aligned with a small control board with a black plastic U-shaped piece. If everything I've described is correct, then you should call a door serviceman to inspect the opener.

SOURCE: My Liftmaster GDO makes a clicking sound and won't open

See if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so remove the bolt and then run the opener until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control which is on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Remember to replace the bolt.

Have a chamberlain 132c2105-4 u it. Door moves up a few inches and down a few inches. Have played with limits and travel and sensitivities but can't get it to travel further. Help. Gordon

The chamberlain garage door openers have a label with the model number close to the light bulbs. The number you gave is the number of a label. Also, the "PART NO:" is just the receiver board part number.
Pull the cord to release the opener and check the full travel of the garage door. If it binds or catches, that might be stopping the opener from working. If that's not the problem, check the main gear by unplugging the opener and removing the shell. Then plug it back in and see if the gear contacting the worm gear on the motor shaft slips. That is the most likely worn part that needs replacing.

As you push remote door travels a shot distance stops, push button and travels short distance again and again. What is wrong?

Most common failure is internal plastic gear. If we assume that this is the failure i would suggest disconnect the travel engage latch to the non engaged position. Cycle the door and observe if there comes a time that the motor is humming and the chain or latch is not moving. Other than reversing for just a brief moment at the end of travel at no time should the motor hum as turning and the latch feature not move.

What I suspect is happening in the down direction door wants to close and as the gear rotates the gear slips . This repair is not so difficult for the DIY with some mechanic skills and tools. Lots of u-tube showing you how, Parts are available. Confirm the right part for your specific model. Purchase the gear and shaft as an assembly if you not sure about the difficulty. Part prices are all over the map. Shop around. You can buy just the gear a little more difficult to replace.
