The aircon system has to be filled up once a year or to be checked the level in the system. If low level in the system, its not cooling.
Almost every auto repair shop has the machine to fill up the system again. This is not a do it your self job.
This will cost around 200 dollars, but only if not something else is malfunctioning, electrical or mechanical.
I recommend to visit a specialist in aircon system, for better and cheaper fault finding.

if ac gas pressure is low in ac lines, system may not work correctly. once i found main reason of having non operational compressor on jeep cheorkee was only the loss of gas inside AC lines. plus please check for AC relay under hood. it can go broken.
