Hi ,, i have just fitted a intel d845gvsrb in my pc but i am not sure where the tower speaker wire , reset sw , power sw , power led , h h d led and the black single one go`s can you please help me ..

The Picture below shows you the locations of the places to put those wires are in relation to your motherboard. In yellow is the power switch and such. and the audio connection is in red.

The Pin layout for the power and other connector are as follows:

the layout for the audio header is as follows: avatar23454_8.jpg

To install the cable that connects a front panel audio solution to the front panel audio header, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer. Turn off the computer and disconnect the AC power cord.
  2. Locate the front panel audio header (J8A1).
  3. Remove the three jumpers from the header (this disables the back panel audio connectors).
  4. Install a correctly keyed and shielded front panel audio cable.
  5. Connect the audio cable to the front panel audio solution.

To restore back panel operations follow these steps:
1. Remove the front panel audio cable. 2. Install a jumper on pins 5-6 (rear R channel). 3. Install a jumper on pins 9-10 (rear L channel). 4. Install a jumper on pins 1-2 (mic). 5. Replace the cover.

I have mercury mother board and its having nine pinsocket for reset switch,power switch,hd led ,etc but i dont know their proper connections. there are some nos besides but not understandable . can you...

Hi Rajen samani!
Most mercury motherboards with a nine pin front panel connection use the following configuration.
You may want to double check to make sure that your motherboard follows this configuration. Just go to, enter your model number, and you'll be able to download the manual for your board. The jumper configuration should be in a section labeled "Front Panel Connection" or something similar.
Hope that Helps!

Dear sir...greetings... i have a ibm fw82801db motherboard which is working fine... the main problem what i am facing is i have a 20 pin front panel jack like FDD jack as unable to connect my front...

Because of the many configuration of motherboard, I can possibly know how to help you with this problem without the keyboard in front of me. The best advice to you is to go back to the manual to find the proper connection of those jumpers.

Unable to find the power switch to connect to

If you no longer have the manual for you're Intel D815EEA motherboard, open the link provided and download it;
You will also need Adobe reader installed to view the manual;
Read over pages 65 to 68.
Once completed turn to page 68 Figure 23. Front Panel connectors. Figure 23 shows two views.
View - (left figure), shows J9C1 as you look down at the front panel pins. The right figure will not be needed. Connect each jumper or each pair as shown.
Wire colors are important and do vary from case to case. The common color of each pair will most likely be used for negative. Wire colors such as blue, light blue, green, light green, red and light red are commonly used as positive.
Pin 1 will be positive and pin 3 will be negative. This is letter - C. Hard drive activity LED.
Pin 2 is positive and pin 4 is negative. Case power LED, and so forth.
As mentioned on page 65, the case front panel pins use 5 volts DC. If you make a mistake and place a jumper backwards (No LED light), just power off the switch on the back of the power supply and correct the jumper by turning it 180 deg. If you’re case’s LEDs do not light up than you will need to connect letter G and letter H. The electronic circuits under the motherboard should supply all 16 motherboard pins with the 5 volt DC and ground needed.

How do i connect the casing power to the motherboard

Open ECS web site and download the manual for your MB, P4VMM2 V7.3;
You will need Adobe reader to view the manual if you currently do not have it. Download and install Adobe; With Adobe you can zoom in and out to assist you in connecting your case to the motherboard. Start with page 9. Page 12 and 13 shows you how to connect your case LEDs to the motherboard. Pin 1 is positive for your HDD_LED. Pin 3 is negative for the HDD_LED. ECT. Most wires coming from the case are inserted into a jumper and most jumpers are marked. Ex: HDD for hard disk drive, RS for Reset Switch, PW for power on/off switch ECT.
The case wire colors do vary from case to case. The wire colors blue, light blue, green, light green and red are most common to be positive. The colors white and black are common for negative. Below is a picture of a typical front panel case to motherboard hook up. Less the white standoff jumper block.

Your board uses an internal speaker. Connect the red wire to pin 1 and connect the black wire to pin 4. See page 11 for location and page 12 for connection.
Use the manual. Its a great guide.

Happy holidays!

Hi sivaprasanna,
Do you still have your manual? If so turn to page 72 for location.
For a close look at the motherboard front panel led to MB pins look at these two pics.
Location of front panel connections;

Item " A " is the front panel MB pins.

Pic two is the layout for each front panel connection;

The power on jumper uses pins 7 & 8.
Pin 7 is positive & pin 8 is negative.

Good luck sivaprasanna!

Generally you don't need to know jumper settings in newer motherboards. What you may be referring to is the front panel i/o connector. This has the power switch, reset switch, power LED, hdd LED, and etc.

To download the motherboard manual, please go to

Hope this helps!

N1996 mother board

The only way to to fix this if your headers on your wires aren't labeled is to trace them back from the switch it self. Usually they are white and red. The orientation on the motherboard pins doesn't matter since it's only a switch. Make sure you are putting the plug onto the power switch jumpers, and not the power led, reset, etc..
